Excellent scallops!

Great seafood , nice gift shop too! A little bit tricky to find as the sign had been blown down in high winds! And we were directed to turn right rather than left off the main road to get to the place.

Fresh seafood - fantastic

We drove from Portree to the Oyster Shed, very scenic.
Zoe in the shop taking orders, preparing the oysters and running the shop. Paul doing the cooking and preparing some awesome fresh seafood. Must have oysters, scallops and langoustines with chips. Take our wine/beer and glasses with you. Dog friendly.
Great standing around the barrels eating fresh seafood with view

An absolute seafood ‘must do ‘ when visiting Isle of Skye!
Nov 2021 • Couples
Oh ….. my …. days! What an amazing place! After ordering a ‘next day delivery boxI’ at the start of lockdown (delivered to South Wales in refrigerated iced box) we were adamant we would visit in it recent tour to Skye! We were on the island for three nights and visited twice! The freshest and most delicious seafood we have had. My husband said his oysters were the best he’s eaten and my scallops were huge pillows of salty goodness! Great service and fun to eat in the outside area overlooking the loch (and cracking your lobster with the enormous hammers loved to the massive barrels! A really really really big ‘must do’! Parking is small so time it right or alternatively make ‘the climb’ you won’t be disappointed!

Amazing freshly cooked seafood with a view

Such a brilliant place. We had a couple of oysters and the scallops and chips - both were amazing and the scallops especially were probably the best I've eaten. All topped off with some incredible views while you eat. Highly recommended!

Lovely fresh Scottish seafood. What more could you ask for?

My husband and I shared a whole lobster (with extra chips). All cooked beautifully fresh to order. Loved the garlic butter with the lobster.

When ever I’m in Skye I’ll be sure to return.

Top tip. Bring some cutlery.

Lovely little gem, worth a visit!

Great produce, fresh oysters and the lady that served us was very helpful!

I loved that they give you a knife and cloth to break open the oysters to keep, great touch!

Quite disappointed the kitchen wasn’t open, we were looking forward to some cooked seafood. We did purchase scallops and lobster for home and they were lovely.

Not nice at all
Sep 2021 • Friends
Sorry to say that the oysters we had were not nice at all. In fact we only ate 2 out of the 6. They were dry, shells were brittle and the taste was gamey
It’s a shame because I was here 3 years ago and I had recommended this place to my friends

Excellent fresh Oysters and very cheaply priced. You enter the shed, place order and are then given instructions on how to open own Oysters. Sheltered Standing area outside to eat.

Would highly recommend.

Excellent and Popular Lunch stop
Sep 2021 • Couples
Really enjoyed our stop here, decent oysters and good lobster and fries at reasonable prices. It’s a rustic setting but has some great views and we are happy to use a barrel as a table and enjoy the seafood and the view

Parking is the main issue, not much available so arrive early

Unacceptable

We love oysters and bring with us oyster knife every time we travel just in case. I can't believe that this shed commands so many excellent reviews. We were open minded and imagined that we might order a number of dishes if the price is right and the food passed our visual inspection. When arrived, we quickly tuned down our expectation and ordered oysters only. 40 pounds for a seafood platter and 13.5 for a dozen of oysters. Price was not too bad but the oysters should be far better. The dozen we ordered were opened right before us and they tended to be small and of average texture. One of it was a peanut size and the staff opened it showed no feeling to this. When asked, he changed it for a regular one. I was given to understand that these oysters were not locally farmed and was taken in from a supplier. The place has little management and hygiene was customers' own problem. Customers were oddly standing with wine drums as tables. An advice for oyster lovers, you will be disappointed. Again how were excellent reviews came about.
