We have just returned home from our Anthem of the Seas cruise around the UK. After seeing the poor and expensive shore excursions that the ship had to offer I contacted Gordon at WOW Scotland Tours and booked the Classic Highland Tour from Invergordon. We also decided to book the Kirkwall shore Excursion for the following day when we were due to dock in the Orkney Isles. Gordon met us at the port in Invergordon and took us on a very comfortable mini coach to many different sites in the area including Cawdor Castle, the Culloden battlefield, Clava Cairns and Loch Ness. His witty banter and engaging personality made for a very interesting and enjoyable day. After returning us to the port he set off to catch the evening ferry to Orkney to meet us the next morning in Kirkwall to start our tour which included the Italian Chapel, Skara Brae, the Ring of Brodgar and the Churchill barriers. As this was Gordon's first cruise ship excursion for 2 years due to Covid, you would expect maybe he would be a little rusty and that things may not quite go to plan, but in fact everything ran like clockwork and Gordon was on top form. There was a last minute change of port arrival time which meant that the Highlands tour was due to start before the ship had docked but Gordon and Kay assured me by email that I would not have to jump overboard and swim to port to make the departure time. All in all, we had a fantastic couple of days and cannot recommend WOW enough!

Went on this tour to day our guide was Robert and he was very accommodating. He made the tour interesting his local knowledge and general history was excellent and he told good stories. He would make an excellent children’s story teller on TV if he ever wants a change in career. Would recommend the tour

A full day in Orkney. Saw all the highlights in a day. A v early start and a 16 hour day! But was worth it. Loved the short stop in John O groats but would have appreciated just a little bit longer as it felt rushed. Rob was v knowledgeable and told us a lot about Orkney. A balanced itinerary including history and culture. And even got to see the outside of Dunrobin Castle on the way back. If I realised we had time in Kirkwall where you could buy your own lunch I would not have bought the pre paid packed lunch which was expensive for what you got. If you are short on time and want to experience something different I would definitely recommend this company.

We have been on numerous coach trips and Rob is, without a doubt, the best tour guide we have ever had. We were blown away by his knowledge (both historical and geographical), and his story-telling was second-to-none. It was a laugh-fest for 12 hours. At first we were a bit hesitant to hear that we would be spending so long on the coach, but Rob made the time fly by and we didn't want the day to end. It was the best day and the absolute best way to see Skye. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this trip with Rob. From John, Linda, Emma and Katie (the Sinclair clan). p.s. John says thank you for his lesson in Gaelic!
