There are great views of Edinburgh from both side of the bridge with the Balmoral Hotel at the junction with Princes Street. It's worth taking your time to take some photos.

You get good views of Edinburgh as you walk across the North Bridge. It connects the Old Town with the New Town and useful to get to Prince street. We found it useful to get from Princes Street to our hotel.

Beautiful panoramic views, the Scotsman Hotel on one side and the Balmoral on another, very crowded, a lot of traffic, but definitely worth taking a walk of the bridge linking the Old and New Town.

The walls of this bridge are very high, but it has nice views of the city from here side and is conveniently located right off of the Royal Mile.

Well, it's a bridge. But it connects the Old Town to Princes Street/the New Town/Waverley station and has magnificent views of the Old Town on one side and Calton Hill on the other.

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests
this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly
visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers
that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the
