The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.

I called their hotline today after a friend was not able to locate the physical store only to find out that the store is GONE! As we are both not from the UK and are over only for a few days, we are not able to order it online and so, sad face.

Visit their website if you are keen to find out more.

My wifes birthday is on Wednesday, this is Saturday. I was in Tesco looking at a box of chocolate at £9. I was advised to try Thornton's website for special offers. I went straight home and went on their website. The 1st thing I see spend over £25 and get free delivery. I spent £51 then I got offers to take it to £29. I checked out and looked at next day delivery £5 something or standard so I choose standard as it was free as I spent over £25. Great I thought until I thought the next day is Sunday so I called them about my order to find out that the standard free deliver takes up to 5 days from Tuesday not Monday or even Saturday to day when I placed my order.
IF I NEVER PHONED UP MY WIFE WOULD NIOT HAVE RECIEVED ANYTHING BY WEDNESDAY.
I said that no where was clear that standard delivery was 5 days before you check out and lodged a complaint. They said it was under a Tab somewhere. A complete con I now wait on a refund of my £29. I called my bank but could not stop the payment. This was a very expensive lesson.
STAY AWAY FROM THEM UNLESSN YOU ORDER WAY IN ADVANCE.

It's the same as any Thorntons you get across the country. Confused as to why it has a Trip Advisor entry.

It has a great range of chocolates available, as you'd get in any Thorntons. Treated the kids to a lolly each.

I cannot leave London without a trip to Thornton's for their delicious caramels. I like the traditional ones, but this year I ventured further and tried a few more. The chocolate covered ones were great too.

A small shop with friendly staff, one would expect a larger selection of chocolates available; nevertheless, decent chocolates.

Good chocolates
Good employees
Bad location
I've heard that the store is infested with rats
Spoke to one of the employees who is terrified and has complained but the company has not done anything about it!

Love Thornton's chocolate! My favorite is the Viennese truffles. Was disappointed to find that the only remaining London Thornton's store was the one in Oxford. If I had know that I would have brought more.

On the outside the large sign suggests there might be a chocolate shop worth visiting. And then, just beneath the outsize store name is writ large "The art of the chocolatier"

Well, there is no art here. It is a very small shop compared with the suggestion from the exterior. Also it majors on a limited, dull display of what look to be mass-produced, rather tawdry gift-type boxes of chocolates.

The true chocolatiers of the world will not be quaking in their boots if this is the best Thorntons can do

To start with, this is just a chocolate shop – much like all the other stores on Oxford Street. They do not offer amazing discounts or tours of the chocolate making factory – it is just s shop. Now I took a few photos from outside then went in to take a look. I was going to take a photo of the walls of chocolate inside when I was bluntly told by a staff member, “No photographs inside!” and then ushered right back out the door. Pretty rude if you ask me, and I am still trying to understand why chocolate cannot be photographed. Don’t bother visiting – Thorntons is a waste of time.
