Called in as we were in the area. The pub an ideal for music venue it is also air-conditioned which was great on a hot Sunday afternoon. Nice ambience and friendly staff.

What a great little venue. Air conditioned and live bands, what more could you want? Thanks to Noel, Gary and the team for a great night out.

This is a fantastic venue for live music run by people who care. The cavern puts on gigs for free (some ticketed) in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The drink prices are brilliant value. You are given the voluntary opportunity to contribute towards the bands tip (no pay to play here like half of Camden!). The pub relies on the revenue from the bar to keep it going as the staff need paying, the bands need paying and there are overheads to running any business.
One tip to help you make a judgement on some of the reviews of this venue. When reading the reviews on here, have a look at the number of contributions that the negative reviewers have made. Those who have less than a handful are likely to have another agenda.

Always a pleasure to visit the Cavern. Always a friendly face and a safe environment if you like to watch a band alone at times and are female. The staff are great and the landlord has a heart of gold. This venue actually pay their bands which is rare in London, the only house rule is to buy a drink or two (soft drinks are fine) to watch great quality music for free.

The place is a haunt for the discerning .music lover, the decor is worth the trip, just for the posters and pics on the wall. Great music is always not far away and the pub is friendly and its like walking into a.local that accepts you straight away as one of theirs !

Came on a Sunday afternoon to see the superb Papa George Band. Can’t fault this place. Friendly efficient welcoming service. Tasteful decor and an amazing atmosphere. Wish we could’ve stayed until the finish.
If this venue was closer, and we didn’t run our own pub then without a doubt I’d be a regular visitor. Looking forward to a return visit. Thanks for a great afternoon.

Had the most amazing night here last night (Sat 4th Sept). Planned to go with a mate who unfortunately couldn't make it last minute so ended up coming here on my own. Bar staff, the the owner and the crowd were all super friendly. Nice choice of drink at good prices. Drinks to suit all tastes and they kept their real ales very well.

Nice sized floor area with stage, merch stall and a snooker table out the back near the toilets. They seem to have live music every day of the week. Some bands you need tickets for but the other bands are free but during the set someone comes around with a bucket to put money in as much as you want and for people like myself who do not carry cash they also have a card reader.

The 2 bands that played last night were awesome, Adam and the hellcats and Systeria. After their sets they came and talked with the crowd, posed for photos and both bands made my night by signing my merch I had bought.

This venue is just a short walk from Raynes Park train station and there was a bus stop just outside as well so great transport links.

How I have never been here before is beyond me. I would definitely come again, managed to make some friends and will definitely be coming back!

My sister and I went on Sunday 25th July to attend an EP launch at a gig by some friends from Liverpool. First time in this venue as we don't live locally but we'll definitely be back! It's a proper music pub with a great sound and the owner and staff could not have been more welcoming. Venues like these should be cherished and supported and we hope to do that again soon. Thanks to everyone at the Cavern Freehouse for a fabulous re-entry into the world of live music and dancing post lockdown.
