I accidentally bought 2 extra tickets and let them know AS SOON as the transaction was completed. They simply refuse to issue a refund. I understand they aren't legally required to, but it is simply the kind, moral, customer-friendly thing to do. I won't book anything here again out of principle.

Been to this theatre and love it here. Right in the heart of the town centre it has its own charm. It has a great bar and restaurant. Whilst waiting for my friends I met people in a local choir who rehearse in a room there. The theatre has a real community feel. Watched The Gift which was very good. The seats were in the second row and only £10. Absolute bargain. Would recommend this theatre.

We were at the opening of the theatre's IVK (Island Vibez Kitchen) Stratford east food event! Buzzing atmosphere, music and wonderful tastes of Trinidadian food. We tried the jerk chicken, chicken curry, plantains and spicy patties. Very fast service by friendly staff. And so inexpensive too. I shall definitely be visiting again!

A friend of mine invited me to see a play in Theatre Royal Stratford East.
I didn’t know about this theatre and I didn’t know what to expect.
Тhe show was in the afternoon which was another new experience for me.
When I saw the theatre from the outside I liked immediately because the exterior shows that this a place for art. In site the theatre looks small but this is actually giving a sense of cosiness. To my surprise for the afternoon performance, the theatre was quite full and the visitors were different age. The play was Our Lady of Kibeho. For me the performance was very dynamic and engaging. I also liked that when the actors were speaking different than English language we could read the text on the top of the scene.
During the break we had a refreshment drink in the bar which was very busy, with a good size (not small, not big) and it also had a garden.
In other words, I liked everything about Theatre Royal Stratford East.
I'm glad that thanks to my friend I learned about this Startford’s jewel.

This theatre is a real jem. The auditorium is a throwback to the Victorian music hall era. Everything is on a slightly small scale compared to today's "modern" theatres, so seating is slightly cramped.
The Panto was well performed, although not a totally traditional script. The sound system was a little harsh, to my ears. However, the children all seemed to enjoy.
I would encourage anybody to visit this theatre, for the experience.

Me and my partner was planning for a nice evening at the theatre to see Our Lady of Kibeho. Unfortunately, my partner fell ill and we called to see if we could change the tickets for another date. To my surprise, the person at the box office was terribly rude and said there are no exchanges, refunds because we had not given 48 hour notice. I’m afraid my partner didn’t plan to get sick. We have been to loads theatres in London and never been treated like this. This would have been our first visit to Royal Stratford East but after this rude encounter, we definitely will not come back.

Went to see the fantastic, mesmerising, haunting, 'Equus'. It was my first time at the Theatre Royal, and I was excited to be there, as I'm fascinated by its history, the roll call of British talent which Joan Littlewood's company nurtured that have trodden its boards, and its place in British theatre lore.
From the moment we entered the venue we met nothing but polite, friendly, and professional staff members, and facilities that were mostly superior to many theatres in the West End.
The team at the Theatre Royal certainly have a venue to be proud of, and that seems to come across as a pride in it, and the levels of customer engagement they provide. We had a great evening and vowed to visit more.

A beautiful building with modern twists to it for the bar area. The theatre itself feels like you’ve stepped back in time. It is small and intimate, it feels grand inside. It’s definitely worth seeing a show there to be a part of local theatre, past and present. Such a lovely venue.

This is a regular theatre venue for us and the standard is always high. Plus there’s always a great audience atmosphere – a real sense of community. Just been to see King Hedley II by August Wilson. Great performances but still a little long even though we know it has been reduced a little. Quite a lot of monologues and really need to maintain concentration so as not to lose any of the story. That said – still a powerful production and very glad to have seen. Good opportunity too to have a bite in Meza East.

This is such a fabulous little theatre – we go whenever we can. Some great acting in King Hedley but still a tad long even though cut in length! Monologues always tricky for audience to maintain focus – or is that just us?! Still, very glad to have seen!
