The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Southbank
Big time attractions such as the London Eye and a thriving theatre scene (compliments of the National Theatre and the Young Vic) are but a few of the reasons that Southbank is such a collectively cherished part of town. With plenty of family friendly activities and venues lined up along a pedestrianized river bank between Westminster Bridge and Waterloo Bridge, visitors can always expect a casual and festive atmosphere. On top of all the fun stuff to do at Southbank is the opportunity to simply sit back and admire photo-op views of iconic landmarks like Parliament and St Paul's Cathedral, just on across the Thames.

Terrible £122 for an hour max
Sep 2021 • Family
Where to start £122 pounds for something we done and walked around in 45minutes shocking….admission for London dungeon was only £88.

Very small,very run down
Shark tank was shockingly small and the great turtles who swim miles a day are confined to such a small tank.

Worst sea life centre we have ever visited…
For the money they charge this shouldn’t be aloud to be this run down and derelict

They Need more interactive areas for children
Buttons to press which tell you all about the animals

Best part was the insect part

Never ever again…..

Hello 503micheals, Thank you for taking the time to provide a review. We do apologise that your recent visit didn’t live up to your full expectations. I would like to take the opportunity to reassure you that we only provide the highest standard of car for all of our animals, and only keep animals where we can provide them with a good amount of space. Whilst animals in the wild do require large territories to fulfil their needs, here in the aquarium we are able to provide them with everything they may need so dont need to move as far to find these things. We also do ensure that all of our spaces are kept well maintained. I am sorry to hear that you found our interactive areas lacking. We do try and provide interactive areas where possible, including a jellyfish game, touchpools and VR experiences, though we have had to limit these due to current restrictions. We would be keen to know how we could have improved your experience. We would be more than happy to discuss your feedback if you contact us at sllondon@merlinentertainments.biz. Kind regards, Chloe Guest Experience SEA LIFE London Aquarium

Lovely day out for all ages
Sep 2021
Great experience where you can walk-through at your own pace to enjoy the amazing variety of fish.

Really enjoyed the talk around the shark area which was interesting and informative.

Was a good experience to learn about conservation issues and to help have more awareness of how we can help protect our amazing oceans.

Staff was very friendly and helpful and lovely gift shop for a momento of a great visit.

AWESOME
MY KIDS LOVED THIS.

I visited the London Sea Life with my kids and they absolutely loved this place. I have not visited a Sea Life before although iv heard a lot about the one in Birmingham and i highly recommend you visit if you are in London. You don’t have to just go with kids, its a fantastic place for adults to visit and enjoy everything they have in there especially the Penguins and Sharks.

overcroaded, overpriced and in poor condition
Sep 2021
can not recommend this attraction, for 30 £ entry you get a highly overcrowded experience, the shark are in a tiny tank with no space at all, same for the penguins, they are stuffed in a dirty, little space with very little water to swim, fake plastic ice and very poor enviroment.

at the end children are encouraged to touch animals, in which centruy are we living? has sea life not understood to respect and treat animals like your own kind?

very poor experience, now wow factor at all, only felt sorry for the animals and annoyed by the selfie crowds.

Great day out
Aug 2021 • Family
Werecently visited sea life and found it to be very interesting for adults as well as for children.
We found all the sea life beautifully displayed.
There was many species to be seen but our favourites were the penguins and got to see them being fed

We found the staff helpful in particular a young lady called Carla who was very knowledgeable and explained to our children the various species and in my opinion went above and beyond to keeping us all entertained and most importantly interested.

We also found the gift shop well stocked reasonably priced.

I would thoroughly recommend a visit.

Amazing shark talk and fantastic accessibility!
Sep 2021 • Friends
Went with my friends on Wednesday! We had a great time and we managed to catch one of the staff doing a talk on the sharks! I really wish I could remember his name because he was fantastic, super entertaining and gave us so much information about the sharks, plus he stuck around after to answer our questions and chat with us! (He did the talk around midday on Wednesday 8th)
We were also incredibly impressed with the accessibility information available on the website, and were able to get a wheelchair on site to borrow, and we knew which moments had flashing lights which we needed to avoid. A great day out overall!

Wouldn’t visit again
I visited with my Son while staying in London for a few days. It was extremely busy, with no social distancing in place and those who were wearing masks had them on their chins.
The people visiting were more preoccupied with taking endless selfies (despite numerous signs and announcements asking them not to do so as it hurts the animal’s eyes). I left feeling like I’d let myself down as a true animal lover visiting this place, it ethically felt like Sea World on a small scale.
There was an area where people were encouraged to stroke a starfish (most people without washing their hands, again despite being asked) which made me sad (along with the penguins). I don’t believe this place truly cares about animals it’s a money making tourist trap. Any attempts at informing people of the environmental impact of plastic on the oceans is totally hypocritical as you’re then bombarded with an array of overpriced plastic junk in the gift shop. Appalling really. Would never visit again.

Hello Cruiser, Thank you for taking the time to provide a review. We’re sorry to hear that you felt disappointed in your recent experience on this occasion. I would like to assure you that we take the safety and wellbeing of our guests very seriously, and we have measures in place to manage this, which are constantly being reviewed and monitored. We have a greatly reduced capacity with time slot allocations to help us manage this. Whilst we do encourage all of our visitors to wear masks and social distance whilst in the attraction, these are advisory and we are not able to enforce this. This is in line with current government advice. We are proud to have a dedicated team that are in the aquarium to help remind our visitors to not use flash photography and asking guests to wash their hands before supervising them touching the starfish. We understand the damage single-use plastic is causing to our oceans, and SEA LIFE is committed to reducing plastic pollution. We have already made great strides in our retail stores by removing unnecessary packaging and plastic on all our branded merchandise. Additionally we have switched 75% of plastic contained within our retail products to a type that is recyclable and we banned all plastics straws and retail plastic bags. Please feel free to contact us at sllondon@merlinentertainments.biz, referencing this review if you would like to discuss your feedback further. visited this venue, on 1/9/2021 I purchased anytime tickets as we were travelling from Kent.
I have to say this was a very bad experience, as when we got inside it was absolutely rammed, this meant it was impossible to get close to the see anything, also no sanitiser in any of the stations that was all empty.
It appears they are selling tickets for timed visits, however they also sell anytime time tickets with no control of numbers.
I have raised my complaint with them and they are just pointing me to their terms and conditions NO REFUNDS
They do not care about social distancing and even the staff have said the same
it is such a shame as it is a great venue.
Shame on Sea life, putting finance before the experience.

It’s ok but very busy!
Sep 2021 • Family
We love looking at marine life and I love the size of this aquarium- however the London one is so rammed full of people you are lucky if you get to see anything! A huge que just to walk through the tunnel where the glass is so scratched you don’t get a clear view anyway. It felt like way too many people inside at once considering we are in a pandemic but can’t complain as we chose to visit these attractions but I know some people may feel very uncomfortable in such crowds.
It was ok but we were only in there 40 minutes. Just got fed up of rude people all pushing about and my little one getting adults push in front of him while he tried to see the fish.

Hello Reviewer20021, Thank you for taking the time to review us. We’re sorry to hear that you felt that your visit was average on this occasion. I wish to assure you that we have implemented numerous measures to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone visiting us, including a reduced capacity of guests to allow for social distancing. This greatly reduced capacity, along with time slot entry, does help us to limit the numbers of people in the attraction. We do appreciate that at times there can be build ups of guests at points, so we have staff positioned throughout the attraction to help manage the flow and ensure that everyone has a safe and enjoyable visit. For more information on what we are doing to keep our guests and staff safe, you can visit our website on the 'know before you go' section. We would be keen to know how we could have made your experience ‘excellent.’ If you email us at sllondon@merlinentertainments.biz, referencing this review, we would be more than happy to discuss your feedback. Good morning out
Aug 2021
SEA LIFE London Aquarium is a good venue with well laid out exhibits and some very impressive fish. The new VR ride/experience is pretty cool also (not cheap but pretty cool).

Look you get what you pay for - central London, major attraction etc. It IS expensive , it DOES get busy... BUT its a good example of Zoology done well.
