Good but not very covid friendly
Oct 2021 • Family
We went yesterday, it was really good and definitely worth the money . The 4d experience was amazing and the kids loved it . The only down side was there was no covid restriction what’s so ever . We were all rammed into a small sweaty room to wait to get into the 4d experience and then again later when squeezed into a lift to get to the top of the tower ( literally until you couldn’t move ) a no go if your claustrophobic.

Iconic blackpool

No long queues on our trip. 4d film was surprisingly good. The glass floor is lots of fun. Excellent views as you would expect and friendly lift staff. Only downside is the lack of covid distancing in the lifts. However I know lots of people complaining about the queues so if we weren’t packed into the lift, the queues would inevitably be much longer. Didn’t buy additional ticket for ballroom but would be nice if there was a place just for a brief peak into it.

Tower of Terror
Oct 2021 • Friends
Visited this week and found the whole experience very stressful . Organisers knew a lift was out of operation but overbooked times. Queues were ages with no way of people with mobility problems being even able to lean. Overcrowded lift worrying with present COVID situation then another queue to get out. They should have taken limited bookings instead of packing folk in to get the overpriced experience maximising their income generation. Surely such a large operation should have a repair contract for their lifts or god help people if the remaining lift broke down.

Communication is key
Oct 2021 • Family
We visited the tower in October. Wasn't that busy but following the 4d experience we waited over an hour in a queue to the top.

Firstly the video was amazing, as cringe as it sounds, gave me goosebumps. The top of the tower was amazing and just what you'd expect. That gap in the middle just ruined it.

When we got to the front we found out one of the lifts was broken ... if that had just been communicated to the queue, it would have been fine but that whole time wondering what was going on and how they cope in summer was the frustrating part.

Not worth it
Oct 2021 • Family
Not worth 5 minutes in a 4D cinema and 5 minutes at the top but waiting an hour for the lift to the top! A few people walked out. Too slow. No social distancing and in the lift like sardines. Not worth the money or time wasted standing around.

Worth doing.

Booked for 11a.m but arrived 10.15 and they just let us in anyway as it was quiet. Only problem going at a quiet time is you feel pressured into keep moving through, whereas we wanted time to look at all the photos of the tower getting constructed.

4d film really good. Lifts seemed far less ricketty than i remember. A very smooth ride but they fair pack folk into the lifts. How that can be allowed in covid times is beyond me and it certainly wasnt obvious if that lift got a full wipe down between lift rides. I doubt it did.

We all kept our masks on and i was fully wrapped with my hood up so fingers crossed that will have given a little protection. When you exit the lift, there is sanitiser there but i think i might have been the only one using it from the group i rode up and down with.

The very top level was closed due to weather it said. The shop was shut too at that time of a morning.

We did the ride simulater seats on our way back down too.

Obvs, for anyone like me that remembers the tower experience from years gone by, this is not going to live up to expectations as it is a money grabbing racket now. Nothing to do with covid, it's since Merlin took over.

Right up to around 2010, you could ride up and down to that tower top to your heart's content all day long for one admission. Spend the entire day in the tower. Sadly, those days are gone. You are in, round, and ejected back on to the pavement again.

But, hey ho, it is Blackpool so this is a "must do" in my book.

Great, iconic place
Oct 2021
This was a well-managed experience, a chance to explore this amazing piece of Victorian genius. Get a clear day, and the view from the top, and a walk on the sky-walk, is thrilling.

Two hour cues for a ten minute view
Oct 2021 • Family
Words couldn't possibly explain how bad the blackpool tower experience was. Booked for 1 o'clock but never got to the top of the tower till 3. We waited 2 very long hours in ques with our 2 young children. The place is an absolute shambles. No covid restrictions what so ever. All they care about is making money at every turn. Over priced garbage. I wish people would just all stop paying for it so the owners would take notice and change it.
