Expensive and too crowded

I had booked a combination ticket with the tower and circus, as it was a reduced price. We arrived at the tower to find that the circus was cancelled as a member had tested positive. It was clear that they knew this the week beforehand, but hadn't bothered to tell me! No problem, they happily refunded the reduced priced combination ticket and charge me full price to go up the tower! The family were with me and looking forward to going up, so I really had no choice but to pay.
You're hustled in, and up to a 4D cinema. Crammed into a small room, shoulder to shoulder with strangers! And, what is the point of the video?! It is just a lame video, very loosely connected to Blackpool and the tower, for an excuse to spray you with water.
Then hurry you through to a lift, straight past walls covered with information about the tower construction! No problem, I said to an assistant, I'll google that later!
Once up in the tower, you are allowed to spend as long as you want crammed in with what felt like at least 100 other strangers! You have to squeeze in to get a view out the window, and wait for an opportunity to get a picture through the viewing deck without other people's feet being in the picture.
Then for the best bit... Queue to go back down in the lift, to find that the greedy company charge extra £10 per person to see the ballroom. This used to be included in the price of the tower, but clearly they didn't make enough profit from that, so now charge extra. As I wasn't prepared to part with an extra £40 to see a room with an organ (as impressive at it is), there was nothing left to do, but leave. That was it! A very expensive 1hr spent.

Blackpool tower eye experience
Jul 2021 • Family
My family and I have just returned from Blackpool
and the only comment I can leave about blackpool tower eye is that it was a horrific experience from start to finish!!!!! Que’s to get in the tower, que to get a photo, que to watch 3D movie, crammed into a small room like a herd of sheep with at least 50 others to await entrance into 3D screening room then huckled into another que which was 3 rows wide to await the lift!!! It was at this point we decided to leave without even getting anywhere near the lift which actually goes up the tower. I felt claustrophobic, scared and unsafe. I am not overly afraid of Covid I believe we now need to live with the virus however I still believe regardless off the current pandemic that those levels off people in that space at any one time was highly dangerous and risky, if an emergency broke out it would have been absolute chaos trying to evacuate the area!!!! I believe they are more interested in taking money from people than peoples actual safety as a whole which is a disgrace. I would advise anyone travelling to Blackpool to stay away from the tower eye until they get on top off this absolute frenzy 😡

COVID queuing at the tower.
Jul 2021 • Family
The entire experience was ruined by the queueing. We queued to get in. We queued to have our tickets checked and then to get into the 4d cinema and then again for the 4d cinema to open and THEN the queueing started in earnest. 1 hour 20 minutes waiting to get into a lift to get to the top with around a hundred people crammed into a wide corridor in three rows. Hot. Boring. Kids screaming and anything but a healthy space to be in. My advice is to save your money, save your time, save your health and don’t go.

Blackpool tower
Been here many times. Things change within the tower but the tower itself is still exactly how it should be. Superb structure and views. The family and I were not impressed with having to queue for the lift up the tower. You are forced to wait for people having a photo before going forward. There should be a diversion around the photo area for those not wanting to have their picture taken.
Overall the tower steals the show every time not the company trying to squeeze more pennies out of us.

It's the Tower what can you say
Jul 2021
Even during this difficult time the staff are really helpful and friendly, the view from the top is always amazing, the new VR is well worth a go, you can't come to Backpool and not visit the Tower

Great tourist attraction
Visited the tower yesterday and booked prior to arriving. The staff were all so friendly and accommodating with our family. Had such a good time here! The lift up to the top has windows so is a little bit scary if you’re wary of heights! The glass floor at the top adds more fun to it too! Kids loved it. Beautiful views can see for miles on a clear day. They take you in to a 4D cinema room and give you glasses too and they play a short film about Blackpool which is so heart warming and child friendly. Lots of laughs and giggles. I would say we were in and out within about two hours. We will come back sometime soon! Thanks for the memories.
