Excellent Big Wheel
Sep 2021
The Big Wheel is worth a ride to see the views. The central pier also has rides, if you do not fancy the Pleasure Beach. There is lots of food and drink available, though some of the food outlets are a little on the expensive side.

Fun pier
Sep 2021
Fun filled experience. Plenty of bits and pieces to do for adults and children alike.
It can be exceptionally busy on there at times though which can feel a bit overwhelming.

The Big Wheel is great
Sep 2021
There are amusements, rides and eateries on the central pier. If you like to take in views, the Big Wheel is recommended when visiting Blackpool. The pier only lost one star because at the eatery we stopped at the waffles were overpriced.

Excellent for families
Sep 2021 • Family
As a family of different ages (10 to 58) we all loved this .
We visited both day and night times .Buying the £20 ticket certainly saves you quite a bit .Cafe was excellent , really clean and decently priced .
Souvenir stalls were expensive ( check the shops out on the Golden Mile first )

What an utter bin
Sep 2021 • Couples
Our 1 night in Blackpool coincided with some firework thing which packed the streets with thousands of people, not one, it seemed, to have any kind of mirror in their house, or clothing other than a tracksuit.
Using a litter bin was clearly frowned upon as we waded ankle deep through the endless rubbish, takeaway cartons and discarded plastic tat.
The tacky shops selling nothing other than fast food, sweets or flashing plastic objects destined, also, for the pavement after the battery runs out.
The pier was packed with toothless buggy-pushers, revelling in the stench of Marlboros and hash, stuffing their children with chips and sugar, sporting, inexplicably, flashing plastic horns on their heads.
This place is truly horrific.
We walked back to our hotel beyond the north pier, past an endless line of stationary traffic, all with their engines running and music blasting, going absolutely nowhere. Why? Why would you sit in your car for hours not moving?
Blackpool may have been somewhere to visit decades ago but it’s the one place to avoid now. If you are expecting the fun seaside of yesteryear you’ll be sorely disappointed.
What a shame.

Let down
Sep 2021
After visiting central pier year after year, I can honestly say it will probably be our last time.
There was quite a lot of litter all around the pub area, people just don’t seem to know how use a bin, people smoking weed with children.
Best thing they should do is close the bar & open up a lovely restaurant you would probably get people in with a lot more respect.
It would certainly get rid of the scum bags that are making it look a mess.
It’s a shame it’s going to the dogs.
Rides are ok not what they used to be,poor lad on the waltzer on his own pushing all the cars,so the ride wasn’t much good, considering it did have the best waltzer 2 years ago not anymore.
Invest in more staff.
It might help.

Nostalgia Central!
Aug 2021 • Friends
Usually we tend to stay on the South Pier during our visits to Blackpool, but being in the area for a few days, and my five year old wanting to go on the Ferris wheel, we decided to change our holiday habits! And so glad that we did!

The Ferris wheel would have cost us 14 tickets (about £16), so it was prudent to buy the £20 bundle of 25 tickets and let my son have a go on some of the fair rides. He loved these and at 2 tickets per ride, he had lots of fun. The ride operators were friendly and efficient and good with the little ones.

There is a small amusements arcade which we did not use, and a family bar at the back of the pier. We meant to return however did not why the chance, and would like to spend an evening here in the future.

Special mention to the churro stand about halfway down. Delicious and on par with churros we bought in Orlando. Definitely worth a treat, and at £6 for nine pieces, perfect to share with the family. Again, super friendly vendors made the experience better.

I’ve always loved visiting the pier at Blackpool and was not let down by this visit. My only criticism would be that it is looking a little run down, and would benefit from a facelift, although I imagine that this may be due to COVID lockdown and weathering due to location. With a spruce up, this pier could be amazing.

There is plenty to see and do on Central Pier. Amusement arcade, fairground rides, places to eat and drink, or just sit and people watch!!

Ugliest low-rent place ever seen in my life
Aug 2021 • Couples
Blackpool as a whole is the ugliest, roughest, dirtiest down-market place I have ever seen in my life! I still can’t get over it. We came from a lovely weekend in the gorgeous and breathtakingly beautiful Lake District (grasmere) and, there’s silly me insisting to make a stop in Blackpool on the way home (I had never been there). I so regret it - what a waste of time and what a stain on the end of a perfect break!
