Nice long walk out over some salt marshes to the sea. Very windy but plenty to see if a little bland once you start the walk back. Not much else there though.

Allow enough time to get there and back as if you are walking into wind it will take longer than you expect. Don't forget to visit the Mary Stanford lifeboat house and read the story

You don't need walking boots, as there is a tarmaced path to the sea, beside the estuary to the sea. Seabirds and waders aplenty

Great safe place to cycle. Three miles of level tarmac road & many other tracks available across this reserve to walk or cycle. Along with Pagham this is a major bird watching site in Sussex.

So good, we went twice. Different weather makes for a different experience and those wide open spaces and big skies. Wonderful. Bird hides are well placed and there are plenty of water birds. Good mix of shingle, grasses, ponds and lakes, trees and bushes. Excellent.

It is a good location for a walk and it is very popular. I was lucky enough to see some seals feeding in the water however some people with dogs are inconsiderate. I have a dog but I kept him away from the immediate shoreline...More

It is a good walk, but I would recommend that the walk from Rye is a bit long, as there is a good walk to the sea once you get there!! And that is not to be missed...but if refuelling Bosons Bite at the harbour is the place... More

The Rye circular walk via Winchelsea is about 7 miles, but there are are plenty of shorter (or longer) ones you could choose.
