We loved Smartno! After seeing lots of beautiful alpine villages around Slovenia, it was nice to see a change in architecture. It really felt like we were in Italy, which admittedly is one of our favourite places! Don’t expect a wealth of things to do...More

The best ice coffee from Mr Tatjana. Unfortunatelly we had a lunch before but the smell from her kitchen by homemade dises was wonderful. I will defenitely come back soon.

Small historic village in Brda, in an area with many vineyards. The village is situated on a hill and there are great views of the surrounding countryside. One can also taste wine and olive oil. Worth a visit!

We actually stayed on Italian side. The whole reason was to try orange wine (white wine, not wine from oranges 😛). When we planned the places to visit, we found olive oil testing in Oljčni bar hosted by Tatjana. We had most beautiful 2 hours...More

A must see little vilage with a lot of culinary aspects...You have to try wine, meat and cheese and do not forget about the pumpkin seed cake and ice cream. Oh....and the view ! :)

This charming walled village must have been intimidating to invaders in days of old, but it will only take you about 30 minutes to wander around the entire place, even allowing for time to poke your head into the few art galleries and shops or...More

Great small village is great for one day trip. It's small but it has a soul. Every house is perfectly placed and you can fill this medieval times by just walking around this small streets. Wiew on the hills and Vinyards is just perfect.

I live in Slovenia. But I am sure you can find place in Nova Gorica or Tolmin od Idrija to stay. It's not so far away. It depends on what you plan to visit. Even capital Ljubljana is not so far away.
