For 1-2 nights stay, you will get this view with the pictures uploaded. During my stay in June, temperature in day was 25 degree while at night it was 17 degree. No fans required during day and night time. This hotel has newly built rooms with nice clean bath rooms. Good food, Bar BQ facility available, shops around which has all basic necessities required during travelling. Shops & hotel services remain open till 1 AM. Rooms are available on reasonable rent. 3k per night an average rate which can be negotiated (depending upon how good a negotiator you are).
Takes around 3-4 hours to reach from Islamabad.
Weekends are jam packed, specially eid holidays. Ideal time to reach this place is 2-3 PM. Have some lunch and enjoy the boat ride and scenic views in evening. To get the real flavor of beauty, sun rise should be observed as its extremely refreshing and a picture to remember for lifetime.

Visited two times before this recent trip and found very pleasant place but now a days, not recommended to visit due to unhygienic environment, broken road conditions from Kahuta to Rawalakot and to Banjosa.
Surroundings are wonderful and even one can spent one or two days in the rest house but litter at every place and unpleasant smell at the lake totally ruin the whole trip.

Banjosa lake is an extremely beautiful place like one can easily say it a heaven on earth. its in the center of thick jungle.boating in the lake is enjoyable. horse riding in the mountains is a plus. few local restaurants with good food and wash rooms are available. its better to take your food with you. there are also guest houses if you want to stay. book guest house before your arrival. its on high elevation so take warm dresses with you. another more beautiful place is just on half an drive from banjosa lake i.e toli peer. about toli peer it is said by authors of some book that it is a part of holy heaven on earth. n if some one wants to see heaven, should see this place. so i will highly recommend these both places to visit at least once in your life time.

Banjosa Lake situated in Poonch district of Azad Kashmir is a beautiful spot for family vacations. It's also very convenient and approachable from Rawalpindi/Islamabad. In fact from Rawalpindi (2 - 2.5 hour drive) you have to take the route towards Kahota and from there you have to go to Rawalakot in AJK. Rawalakot is 65 Kms from Rawalpindi and from Rawalakot Banjosa is 12 Kms.
i have visited Banjosa lake many times.. and i enjoyed it a lot ..
its a cool , calm , green and lovely place in fact.

Banjosa lake is a famous travelling spot. An exquisite place for an amazing weekend evening. The glistening water reflecting the high mountains around is really a breathtaking view. The green gardens around this beautiful lake add its beauty.

Could do with a good clean up now, also more attention to catering services and toilets etc. otherwise very beautiful natural scenery and friendly locals, beware of theft though as it is now becoming a tourist attraction even more than before. Don't leave valuables on show especially in car when parked alone.

Banjosa lake is a very overrated place. Lake is artificial and not scenic at all also water is quite dirty. The place is very over crowded by local visitors. Road towards lake is quite bad in shape. This place is not recommended.

Can anyone suggest the road conditions from Gujrat to Rawalakot, Rawalakot to Tolipeer and Rawalakot to Banjosa Lake.
Can we travel by road to Tolipeer by car?
Written 8 August 2023
Yes road is fine. Except for a few small patches. But the destination is not worth it.

Hi Guys
Can anyone suggest the road conditions from Islamabad to Rawalakot, Rawalakot to Tolipeer and Rawalakot to Banjosa Lake.
Can we travel by road to Tolipeer by car?
Written 29 June 2017
I am now able myself to answer the question.
The road condition from Islamabad to Kahuta is very good but bad (mostly un-carpeted) from Kahuta to Azad Pattan. The journey onwards in still not good rather worst at some places. Hitting the bottom of your car is not unlikely ( I have experienced couple of times).
Road towards Banjosa lake is broken and almost impossible to get third gear.
We were planned for Tolipeer too but returned back after Banjosa lake experience.
So guys, better to avoid.
