A MUST visit

Spend half a day visiting this beautiful cave. A marvel that the Thai government has preserved for future generations. Words cannot really describe the experience. You’ll thank yourself for spending time here.

Couldn’t stop saying wow! The tour of the caves was great and very affordable - the caves themselves are beautiful an definitely worth visiting. We rented bikes from Pai to get there and back - also had amazing tofu curry at restaurant outside the caves :)

Worth the Ride
Jan 2020
We were staying in Pai and decided to stayed a extra day as there was so much to do. We decided to go up to Lod cave on our last day and it turned out to be one of my favourite trips i have done in Thailand. So there is no national park fees but you need a guide. For a single person it is 150 Baht but you will only do the first two caves. You can pay 450 Baht for a group being 1-3 and you will get a round trip through al three caves and a bamboo raft trip inside the cave (really coo). The town just out of the caves also have a few restaurants you can enjoy some lunch after your. Really worth the trip.

A truly spectacular show cave
Jan 2020
This was our first proper Thai show cave. Within walking distance of Cave Lodge the cave swallows the river running past Cave Lodge and disgorges it 800 m away at a lower entrance. It is possible to kayak through the cave in the rainy season and in the dry season visitors are ferried through part of the cave on bamboo rafts. The cave is full of huge dry stalactite formations and thousands of swifts roost near the lower entrance where very ancient wooden coffins can be seen in high level passages. There are several very steep flights of stairs to negotiate to see all the cave. One can exit at the lower entrance or return through the cave. The guides carry powerful Tilley lamps and are nearly all women. Prices are reasonable and you can buy food to feed the large carp like fish that live near the cave entrances. A visit to Tham Lod is a must if you are in the area. There are a number of other 'wild' caves in the area that can be visited.

Would have been nice but too many fears!
Jan 2020 • Couples
House of horrors for me! Heights and rickety ladders to get up and down them. Gigantic spiders and evidence of even more with webs everywhere. Thin, broken bamboo rafts with gargantuan fish under the water and a water snake tried to board our raft! And top it all off flying bats above our heads and raining poo on us. Not my favourite place! My boyfriend enjoyed it though.

Great cave experiwnce
Jan 2020 • Couples
The cave system is much deeper and had many more levels than I expected. It was really neat going around and seeing other people’s’ lights in the distance or above as they explored further on. The highlight was the boat trip. Really good fun. You can hear the bats as you drift along. Definitely recommend. The tour itself of all 3 caves plus return barge took c 1 hour. We also doubled back after the cave and walked the path to the end of the cave which was also nice.

Limestone cave

Nice place to visit and trek. The place is very dark inside, you will need to get a guide with lamp to bring you around inside. Beware of the third cave which is full of bat's droppings. Nice place to take photos. You can feed the fish when taking the bamboo raft ride thru the cave.

Cave experience not to be missed
Dec 2019 • Solo
This was a last-minute impulse decision and I don’t regret it one bit ... it was worth every single penny. I went when the birds were coming back - spectacular!!! Our guide was great and the bamboo boat ride was just like out of an Indiana Jones movie!!! I totally recommend this.
