While the approach to this church might be through a guantlet of tourist kiosks may be tacky, once inside this church compound, a beautiful!

I could stay in this church for hours. I particularly loved the murals. No good guide books though. Also the gift shop saleswoman was incredibly rude.

Close to tiblisi Easy accessible road The view on the rivers, mountains and fields is breathtaking. The church is beautiful and still stands tall though it is more than a thousand years old

Have you tried to find the website? This is a very famous monument and it should have one. Otherwise if you find it i suggest not monday, but sundays are good for the tradtional services.
