We were on lengthy Global Eurailpasses with my self designed itinerary unfortunately placing us in Venice on a weekend, not ideal.

The early November 2022 weather was however fine and sunny. 16 degrees.

We enjoyed walking along the tiny canal.

Shops had a sameness to them. The colourful three storey houses were interesting.

The vaporetto journey back to San Marco was tedious as these were very crowded. It did not help that the captain was the poorest so far. An uncomfortable 40 minutes.

Burano is just an amazing place to visit, with all the different coloured houses.
But if I had a complaint, it would be that all the shops and stalls seem to sell the same things, with nothing standing out as being different.
But lovely to walk around, and chill!

Lovely little place that some people says is not worth the visit.

Using the water taxi from Punta Sabbioni, we spent nearly 3hrs just wandering around the numerous lace and glass shops on the island.

Food is not that expensive, so lots of options to eat.

The houses are the stars; all painted in bright colours offering get picture opportunities.

This is something to recommed and if you have a lengthy stay in Venice (+4 days) you really should have a night or two on Burano. Lovely colours on the house, retaurants in abundance along the tiny canal. Lovely.

This is a very nice trip to take from Venice if you have some time over. The atmosphere here is much more relaxed, slower pace, less tourists (arrive as early as possible, the tourists arrive around lunch) and a lot of great restaurants. For a quick look, 1-2h is enough, with lunch here, add 1-1,5h. Be advised! The boat going here was packed even at the 0910 departure. Some left at the Murano stop, but plenty of people went all the way to Burano. If a next time happens for me, I'd try even earlier.

A quaint island to spend part of a day; easy to get to from Murano and Venice. There is a small lace museum as well as shops selling handmade lace products. The most charming part of the island, by far, is simply walking around the brightly colored fisherman's houses.

Certainly worth a water trip to visit this beautiful island. The small canals are lined with colourful houses, shops and restaurants which just add to the experience.
We took an early morning Actv waterbus from Fondamente Nove, which also stopped at Murano. Check out Venicelink for travel day passes.

I liked the island of Burano very much. Like many other visitors, I was enchanted by its colors and lovely atmosphere. It is undoubtedly a photographer's paradise. It is worth to visit this island, walking among the colorful houses, sitting in a cafe, shopping and enjoying this place.

This is a stunning place - picturesque, tranquil, romantic with a photo opportunity at every corner. An absolute must and so much better than it’s well know Murano. You simply MUST visit this place. You will not be disappointed. There’s a little market square and beautiful places to eat if you find time after taking all your photographs. My favourite place in Venice
