We thought we were imagining things! We didn't realize Burano had a leaning tower, and thought our eyes were playing tricks on us. Not as obvious as Pisa, but still interesting to see!

Burano`s own "tower of Pisa". Built in the 17th century, the leaning tower has a square shape and Renaissance and neoclassical architectural features. It can easily be spotted facing Piazza Baldassare Galuppi.

This little diversion of a leaning tower was quite fun, especially since I havn't been to Pisa. It provided some great photography opportunities and gave depth to the charming city of Burano.

This crooked bell tower can also be seen from afar when you see the town from the vaporetto and also up close.

Pisa isn’t the only town in Italy with a leaning tower! This former bell tower at San Martino Church dates back to the 15th century. The best location to admire the Burano's leaning bell tower is the Terranova's marble bridge or the Giudecca's street (the one in Burano and not the one in Venice). it has undergone several restorations over the centuries, especially in the upper part of the belfry.

The top of the leaning tower has always been crowned by an angel, fell in 1867 during a storm; now in its place there is a cross of iron. The bell towers of Burano stands above Burano then, once you are on the island, it will be easy to reach it.

This a great place to visit, if coming from Venice Island take the number 12 water bus, (Vaporetto bus) from F.te Nove "A" to Burano and Torecello.

This should be an all day trip, as you can walk around eat, relax and enjoy the locals with amazing ambience.

It is the surroundings that make this tower (and it's lean) an attraction. Enjoy a walk around the island and you will go right by it.

Burano in some ways was more spectacular than Venice. The colorful buildings and small canals make it a romantic getaway to stroll through the town. I really enjoyed the laid back atmosphere and the kindness of the villagers. I highly recommend a visit.

I love burano is one of my favourite islands in Venezia .... I came very often to relax before taking my plane back to UK.

I must admit I never realised how the tower is slightly bend until you take time to chil seat and relax.

Highly recommend to chill and seat to enjoy this island , does not have lots of old buildings with Venetian style like Venice but definitely the combination of colours in the houses make you feel like you are at home

Pisa has their tower, and Burano has theirs. If you look closely at the top of the tower you will notice metal bands that are holding the top in place.
