My wife bought a lace handkerchief here and loved it. While we were in the store, we saw a dress that we thought would be perfect for our daughter's wedding dress for her wedding next summer. Of course, we wanted to clear it with our daughter first. The salesperson assured us that if we wanted it, we could just contact them and they would get right back to us to let us know how to purchase it and have it shipped to us.

As soon as our daughter saw the photo of the dress, she fell in love with it so we immediately tried contacting the store. Over a week later and after many repeated attempts, we still haven't heard back from them. Had we known they'd never get back to us, we would have just bought it and taken our chances. Very disappointing!

Will be going back in September of 2018 and hopefully all within is Made in ITALIA and not Made in China.

That would truly crush me since I love the merchandise within this store

I purchased 3 scarves from this store. The lady at the shop was very honest and described the different items I was looking at inside the store. One small scarf cost 80 euros, and the other 2 were 25 euros each. The ones I bought were all Italian silk. The 25 euro scarf had Italian silk fabric that they purchased, and then added the lace to both ends - they were very thin silk. The more expensive one was a thicker silk that they hand stitched together make a nice pattern and took almost 2 weeks to make. There were other scarves that were imported (China) and machine made (less than 20 euros), and that was explained to me clearly. Some items had imported material (body of the scarf), and they would add the lace or embroidery to it. So make sure you talk to them and ask about the items you are interested in buying.

If an item is all handmade in Burano, it will be expensive. There are many stores in Burano that display the cheap China made lace in front of their store to attract customers. But they also have the authentic Burano ones inside the store, which are significantly more expensive.

There is an upstairs to this store, where they have more clothing, table cloths, etc. Their best items are inside and upstairs (not in the store front).

Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase. However, I took off one star because one of the 25 euro scarf had a tiny hole in the lace netting - unnoticeable unless you inspect carefully; I didn't notice it while at the store.

This is my second visit to this store. First time I was there in 2015 and bought a lace fan, which cost almost 50 euros and it was beautiful - unlike any of the cheaper ones I saw on the street or other storefronts.

I was at this shop in April 2016 and had a good look around at it was I was not entirely convinced that they made everything there themselves - even though we told that they made everything themselves, therefore I did not purchase as much lace as I may have (I have had my own experience with lace and used to make it on my embroidery machine and theirs looked exactly the same ) I did purchase two lace handkerchiefs - one was a shadow type embroidery and the other had a lace corner, as they are gifts I have not opened the packet to look for country of origin labels, but they cost me 18 euros for the two, so I haven't lost too much if they were made elsewhere. There were a lot of these tiny shops where we were taken to in Burano, none of which looked like it was set up professionally to make lace. I was rather annoyed because the tour company said that we would see where they make lace - I'm afraid I did not see that although I did see a place where they SOLD lace
I think that it may be ' buyer beware '
