Uttarakhand is full of Devi temples and Chnadrabadani is one such. Situated 31 kms from Devaprayag is the mountain atop which is the temple.
Legend says that the Torso of Devi fell here.
From Rishikesh one can catch a shared jeep to Deveprayag. From there bus going to Tehri or shared jeep will drop you at the base of the temple at a place called Jamnikhal. From there its a 7 Kms walk or some shared jeep.
The last 1 km is a walk over the stairs and pathways to the temple.
The view from top gives a some peaks of the snow clad himalayas. The peaks of Kedarnath, Badrinath etc are seen from the temple top.
The priests are very helpful in offering a nice puja.

I actually visited this place in December 2014 but since there was no room to check December 2014 i had to check my visit for December 2015. I started with a group of around 30 business professionals; under one of my knowledge retreats for ancient Indian wisdom and leadership development upon 'esoteric dimension of communication'. It took us around 165 minutes before we touched the base of the temple from Rishikesh. Preferably such journey should be embarked at an early hour of morning so that a comfortable return is made to ones base camp. The road is good. Merely around 20 kms of road is slightly narrow beyond dev prayag while we disembark the national highway. But everything is perfect. Any city driver can easily drive with some care.
The traverse on foot is around a km but it is easy to climb since the slope is comfortable. It took us around 30 minutes to accomplish the total climb. There are roughly around 75-100 stairs just short of the top. The moment you are sighted the drums and bigules start blowing in welcome and inspiration to cover the last leg. This musical facility is an arrangement by the temple management. It encourages the fatigued climbers to sum up the last left distance.
Now that you are on the top... the mesmerizing Himalayan ranges catches your existence with its invisible magnetism and one is drawn to the majesty of Himalayan pull... a silver lining shining as jewels pierces the retina of our eyes casting indelible impression upon the sub conscious... After waiting for a while we entered a small room that comprises the shakti peeth.
Once entering the shakti peeth we were awed by the presence of a Shri Yantra (sacred geometry) inscribed upon a stone shaped like the back of a tortoise. How the inscription upon that Shri Yantra transpire is a matter of immense surprise to any common mind cause the place atop the Yantra is just enough to suspend a scale of around 28 inches. The time for that inscription is unknown. Shri Yantra is a great science for those who want to break the endless chain of birth and death cycle. Generally people understand that Shri Yantra is related to wealth generation whereas the actual essence transcends beyond that to the existential evolution of the being.
Exclusively devoid of any ones suggestion it is deeply gathered inside that the subtle presence of those not in gross form exist around us... Only if you could silence your running thought popping machine i.e. your brain... then the awareness automatically slides towards the subtle surrounds where entities unseen playfully engage you in their blissful experiences. We meditated there and after a meditation of around just 20 minutes... repeat just 20 minutes each one wanted to remain shut. EVEN THE MOST TALKATIVE remained silent. Each one said something has engaged us deep inside.
I stand no confirmation but the local priest at the temple informed us that Adi Guru Shankaracharya and Swami Ram Krishna Paramhansa had visited that place. I am quite convinced about the visit of Adi Guru Shankaracharya since
Not many amenities are available over there hence it is advised to carry some fruits and food along with; if you are a budget traveler. We returned back to Rishikesh before the sun set. Local transportation, taxi and tempo traveler are available to people of all budget.
Worth going there again and again...

30 kms up and away to its west of Dev Prayag where the two main streams of Ganga river meet is a shrine revered by many visited by few.it is isolated spot for which you will have to stay at dev Prayag as not many are allowed till last to actually stay there.Even GMVNL state TRH were closed down. But the spot in the center of Uttarakhand offers you panoramic views 300 degrees of the main Himalayas. Adi Shankaracharya visited this divine place 2500 years or again in about 682-700 AD.Hindu legend says that this is the place of divine goddess Tripura sundari at Chandrabadani is the place where the legend says the Main body of the Parwatee fell after sudarshan chakra of Maha Vishnu cut the burnt body carried by angry Shiva. The Head fell at Surkhandadevi at Chamba tehri Buraskhanda ridge area from Dhanualtee road towards Mussourie famous hill station. At Kunjapuri, near Rishikesh fell the legs portion of the body. These are the main 3 himalayan divine spots of Goddesses- shakteepeeths,Tehri Dam building has cut off one main road. But still this place is worth a visit. We stayed with family of three children one only 3 huddled in a tin shed eating only one meal of dal rice from a cave cooked dhabha. But the views from this place from 2700 meters is awesome 300 degrees. This is one of the main adee Shaktee peeths .I will never forget the visit ever.Read Swami Akhandananda s 1918 travellogue of himalayan yatra from bookshop of RK Mission.
Again this visit was before June 12.They have a Widows ashraam and womans empowerment programs run at Anjanee sain ashraam camp for destitute women of the hills at the base of this hill spot.

The place is about 33 km from Devprayag, the narrow motorable road diverts from badrinath highway after 5 km. Should go by hired vehicle. Avoid self driving. In the end have to trek for 1 km, which is too steep, and elderly perple should avoid, but after reaching top, one can enjoy snow clad scenic view of Himalayan peaks of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, Yamnotri

Amazing temple on the top of the hill.
I have visited Mother Temple number of time to receive her blessings.
A beautiful temple on the hill, when you reach the temple, a very nice view of the area comes in front of us, clouds above us, snow over the hilly area, windy as well.
There are tea stalls, number of shops and the Uttarakhand drums keep welcoming there guest. Near mother temple you can visit bhairav temple, Lord Shiva temple.
There is a small guest house for the people who wish to stay at this place,
Must visit and take blessing of Mother.
Jai Chandrabadni Maa

Are there any hotels or dharamshalas nearby chandrabadni temple where we can hault for some hours just to get fresh up
Written 24 April 2017
Hotels or dharamshalas are not exactly in the vicinity of Chaandrabadni temple. Its better to halt at Devprayag or New Tehri town, relax and then proceed to Chandrabadni temple.
