excellent area, pitty about the noise
Mar 2021
interesting, large shopping, food district in the boat harbour
close to Perth, next to a great safe swimming beach
plenty of shops, very interesting
some entertainment but
They recently started playing music (in public) by a local DJ whom I shall not name (The Count) whose music is just much too loud for the area
It has driven us away several times now and not planning to go back until he stops with his excessive noise
Pitty because there are some good restaurants, but then again there is good food at other places too
How far do they have to hear the noise? across the road, the next suburb?
And the worst is the subwoofer boom box which contributes nothing to the music experience but gives people an anxiety attack

Anyone can play music loud
it takes an expert to play it just right for the chosen audience
You are ignorant "Count"

Touristy tour

The Boat harbour is a great retreat on a hot day or a rainy waters night. Most of the main walk ways are covered. Throw on a jacket on a cold night & off you go. There are plenty of cafes & coffee sops scattered around, as well as some fine restaurants. Great family environment.

Fishing spot
Feb 2021 • Solo
This harbour offers a great fishing platform for many a Fisher.

The rock wall is usually full of fisherman lined up all the wall to the end. You can usually also see children on the concrete platform inside the harbour.

This is a good place to let the kids have a fish whilst you fetch a coffee from one of the cafes situated on the Boardwalk.

We do get a lot of fishers at Hillarys and is suited to families of all ages. While the rock wall is more suited to older children the Jetty behind AQWA is safer option for families of young children. With Allycats coffee shop at the end of the jetty, your cuppa is just a few steps away :)

Great atmosphere
Jan 2021 • Friends
The atmosphere is family friendly and a free movie was held on the boardwalk if you wished to sit and enjoy. Food outlets were plentiful and plenty of choices for an ice cream to follow up.
Families were enjoying a swim close by as it was a very warm evening.
No need to be lonely, come down and people watch and soak up the atmosphere. Even tho very busy, parking was not a problem for us.

Busy but nice way to spend an afternoon
Feb 2020
Hillarys is a very busy marina. Lots of places to eat with a variety of food and a good range of prices. A reasonable amount of shops to browse. Great place for children as well. Have been there many times.

Love Hillarys Boat Harbour
Mar 2020 • Friends
This is always a lovely morning/afternoon/evening out, to shop, eat, drink or swim in the sheltered water. I always love to bring our visitors to this place as there is always such an amazing vibe. Would be great to see something happening where the water slides were but it doesn't take the shine off the place in general. Highly recommended place to visit day or night.

Great little area with lots to see and do.
Alot of casual dining close by and the aqua aquarium of australia close by...
Lovely little beach right beside and very safe for kids.
Can get very warm in the direct sun. Bit loads of shade under cover areas on beach.
