We stopped here on an overcast dry day. Sand was warm, the sea was not freezing. Kids went in for 30 mins. Shame about the oil tankers all over the horizon..

We visited the beach to watch the Honda Celebration of Lights, the annual fireworks display in July. It is a nice beach located in downtown Vancouver, walking distance from the shops and restaurants on Broadway. It is a small beach and not as famous as the English beach which is right next door.

Nice, easy walk. Did it in June, so all gardens are beautiful. Streets green, big trees. Neighbourhood is very very nice.

A very famous beach that still has its charm. Always go for a stroll whenever we're in Vancouver. Some very nice restaurants with great views, and sunsets are a must!

Hello everybody.

My fingers quivered as the wind of Kitslano Beach tickled the tips of my hands, pants, also called my fingers. Space? The Glorious place I always go with my son, but this time I went alone. Moms always like alone time am I right sisters? I loved taking a day off and away from my husband, am I right ladies? My feet were blasted with the bitter cold but the scenery of the mountains, the drifting ocean, the sand, the crunchy sand, and Dave really gave me one of the best days I've had in a long time. I'm so happy for you if you get to go to this place. Hi Dave

We loved our walk along the seawall. The view changes as you walk around the bend. It was fun to gather a couple sea shells and sit on the beach. The trees along the path are so pretty.

Even in winter’s first full month of January, Kitsilano Beach bustles with busyness on a sunny day.
Today is just such a day.
Kitsilano Beach holds its popularity throughout the year because it has a loverly seawall adjoining it, a significant children’s park next to it, alongside its being a good long stretch of beach, dotted with logs on which to sit & contemplate a view of the ocean across to mountains on the other side of the inlet.
It is also conveniently located just a few miles from Vancouver’s downtown core.
Another advantage is it is surrounded by a number of good daytime eateries close by to grab a meal, either sit down or to-go.
These include Moltan’s Roll Bar + Sake, on Cornwall & just east of the beach, which serves with grace fresh & delicious sushi at good prices to eat in or to go. It is open from noon daily
The Local is just across the street on Cornwall & is open with good service & a range of foods from early brunch onwards.
Juliet’s Cafe is a bit further away, just before the Burrard Bridge, also on Cornwall, & is open for early breakfast to 3pm.
Across from it is a nice Starbucks, which open early for those who want to catch those early rays.
Unless the rain is torrential — in this city where it rains a lot, — Kits Beach is a good place to seek out to stretch both one’s legs and eyes.

Kitsilano is great in itself but also many great amenities surround it.
First, there is a nicely-resourced park, which adjoins it, attracting children year-round.
There are slides, swings, merry-go-rounds etc, as well as some sandpits and open spaces in which kids can make their own play.
There are also places for adults to sit while watching their children.
Kits Beach also adjoins the seawall, which takes one onto a delightful walk, which offers superb views and pleasant side activities, as one makes one’s way around the oceanfront of central Vancouver.
Also adjoining the beach/park area, slightly to the west
is the terrific ocean-view Kits pool, which is open from May to September.
Just up is Cornwall, a street which offers some great places to eat during, and, after one’s day on the beach or at the park.
Stand outs here — both open in the day and seven days a week— are the charming Japanese eatery, called Moltan Roll Sushi, just off Walnut. And it is open during a good part of the day.
It is open weekdays from 12 pm to 9pm with a staff break from 3pm to 4:30 pm, and Fridays to Sundays, straight through the day. It service is impressive and its prices good,
as well as its food being delicious and always fresh.
It is also the perfect place to get takeout sushi to eat on the beach logs, which provide perfectly good seating for eating.
Another place is the Local, just across from the beach and park. It service is good and its staff welcoming —and it also has a kids’ menu.
It is open from 11 am weekdays or 10 am weekends.
Also, almost adjacent is a public tennis court and basket ball court — both free.
So a visit to Kits Beach — all seasons - offers myriad options to watch, walk, play, eat al fresco, dine or just be with nature, be it solo, with family or with friends.

An amazing and large park and sandy beach.
The public pool has closed for the season but the wide Sandy beach had lots of sun bathers and lots of people swimming in the ocean.
Lots of benches and grassy areas too.
Had a beautiful walk and take out dinner here.
