    Fun return to Stampede!
We went on July 11 after a 17 year absence and were pleasantly surprised to benefit from free entry until 11:00 am! We always like the map and daily event schedule provided at the gate as it really helps to make the most out of your day. The RCMP were celebrating 150 years so we enjoyed seeing the Misical Ride which is a proud Canadian event. The illusionist was OK and 2500 others watched it with us. The Indigenous camp by the river was also a treat with dancers in regalia. Stampede show riders and probably far too many people packed into a Dog Stars show made the list of shows u til the final Coca Cola Stage concert of Tegen & Sarah. Many new venues and improvements have occurred since we last visited especially the Coca Cola stage, River Vp and Nutrien Agricultural areas. Lots of fun concerts and night life is available as well. It was tricky to search out gluten free food so possibly a link to a list of items or providers of such on the Stampede website would be a benefit to many. We did find gf poutine and in the Ag Grill there were options. It was a lot of fun, the weather was perfect +20 🤠

    Get your tickets!
We were a bit concerned about ending up in Calgary during the Stampede...THE event of the year! We had just finished 2 weeks of being in the Canadian Rockies and ready to fly home. But we decided to join the fun, and were glad we did. We enjoyed the matinee rodeo during a weekday, and even though we bought seats on the 7th level up, we could see just fine and were shaded from the sun. The Calgary Stampede app is wonderful and was very helpful to navigate to different areas to see various events. The rodeo is only one of the many attractions to the Stampede. There are performers, other animal competitions, the Midway, and of course plenty of food! This was a great way to experience Calgary.

    Horse Heaven!
First time and won’t be the last time. Attended 2 days and had tickets for a night show and afternoon rodeo. Very exciting events and lived all of the buildings of livestock. The food options were extensive and very good but expensive. Was a fun environment so we had fun wearing everything cowgirl!! Also used the train and that was easy and inexpensive to and from our hotel as well as our trip into downtown for dinner!!

    Must do the Calgary Stampede
Wow, what an experience, the whole atmosphere was awesome. The organisers should be very proud, the night entertainment was the best we had ever seen, coming from Queensland Australia we have lots of entertainment but Calgary put on the best. It was a bucket list experience for us.

Greatest outdoor show in the world!
The signage outside the entrance to the Stampede states the obvious and is pretty close to the truth! Was lucky enough to attend the 2nd and 3rd last days of the 2023 Stampede and found it to be an unforgettable experience! The rodeo was non stop action and the evening chuck waggon races and light show 2nd to none in entertainment value. Apart from the main arena, the overall fair ground was massive and held over 100.000 people each day I believe. Anyone with an interest in rodeo or cowboy events should certainly put this rodeo on their "bucket List".

We were there for 2 days at this self proclaimed Greatest Outdoor show on Earth.
First day was the evening show with Chuck wagon racing, which was great viewing, followed by the musical extravaganza. This really was something else, the highlight being the drone light show.
Second days events included what I would normally associate with an event of this type including bareback riding, steer riding, barrel racing, wild pony racing and tie down roping. Great fun although I’m sure the Health and Safety police in the UK would have their say on some of the events.
There’s also a whole load of side shows including Nashville country music and a huge fun fair as well a separate area for the Furst Nations to exhibit their handicrafts. The food offering is what you’d expect at such events.
Definitely worth going to
