We had a quick look at the chapel and the surrounding areas of Santo Domingo Church. A tour guide blocked the view doing a private tour making it a bit annoying to view so we lingered to the other parts of the church. With all...More

I stopped by Santo Domingo Church when the sign outside said it would be open, twice. Both times there was still a Mass going on inside, so the Chapel itself was roped off. However, I was able to see inside, and it was beautiful. I...More

Inside the Santo Domingo church, this is perhaps the most beautiful chapel in Puebla. It's up front and to the left of the mail altar. If you don't go all the way to the front of church you'll miss it. The gold leaf, ceiling work,...More

The Capilla del Rosario is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and resplendent Cathedrals I have ever witnessed. The intricate architecture evokes wonder in one upon arrival. It is a must see in all its glory if visiting this great town.

You will need a good minute to take it all in. Its definitely worth a stop to check it out. Interesting history, as it took 50 years to decorate and was primarily decorated by indigenous artisans.

This chapel in the Santo Domingo Church in Puebla is beautiful--so much tile work and gold. You can see the brilliance of the 23.5 carat gold in the "cypress" over the altar vs the painted gilding on the walls, but all of it is tremendous.

We've seen a lot of churches and cathedrals over the years, and there's a cathedral in my small home town, but this church is special. The amount of gold is astounding.
