What a place. We walked over six miles today and never seen so many fabulous churches in my entire life! Morelia still sparkles with colonial charm and colors a not to be missed place.

The center of Morelia is a place with lots of life, restaurants, museums and churches to visit. Lots of bars and places to dance or have a drink and stay awake

Around the main square, the building facades and some of the buildings are original. There are several lovely parks and you can go into the schools and library to view the murals and architectural features. A nice half day stroll

This UNESCO city is stunning with all of the buildings made of pink cantera stone. At night it glows a wonderful warm color and there are also lights shown on the Cathedral in the evening.Lots of activity there as well...

Though I was very close to Michoacán (Pátzcuaro and Janitzio) , I was with a tour group of Mexican Nationals. Since tourist money helps the local economy, I would think you would be fine. Just don't flash fancy jewelry... More
