Nice afternoon stroll
Dec 2019 • Family
Was surprised to see all the amenities. Food carts, restaurants, souvenir shacks and of course the raccoons.
Able to rent bicycles and a leisurely walk or ride to the end of the pier flanked by the ocean and the river inlet.
Saw barges, container ships amongst the local fishermen.
Friendly atmosphere with lots of multigenerational family enjoying the scenery.
Would definitely return and the next time spend more time at the beach.

Nice walk or biking
Jun 2019 • Couples
Great for walking or biking and having sea and birds at both sides while lot of raccoons crossing the road. Bikes are special and for rental because sit 4-5 persons. It is like 1 mile walk each way and lighthouse is at the end. It is right at Miramar beach.

Run, walk or cycle
Jan 2019 • Couples
This is a wall that runs 1.5km out to sea. Early in the morning there are people jogging, walking and cycling. There are raccoons living in the rocks that come out to be fed late afternoon. At the end you can often see dolphins in the mouth of the Panuco river. This New Year’s Day they had the second 3km race with 500 runners. There are some souvenir stalls on the escolleras and shops and food stands at the beginning. You can hire bikes from a couple of places.

Las Escolleras (The jetty)
Nov 2017 • Family
This 2.6 Km. long jetty is located right at the south part of Miramar Beach. If you walk on the paved surface you will have on your right the Panuco River mouth onto the sea and on your left the ocean waters of the Gulf of México. If you stay long enough you might have the chance to sea dolphins or porpoises jumping out of the water, as well as the catch of many fishermen.

Nice walk on the beach
Nov 2017 • Couples
The escolleras are what divides the sea from the panuco river. Its a nice walk up to the lighthouse with a spectacular view. There are also Raccoons that you can feed with cat food, they will come up to you and take food from your hand. A must see in the city!

Great time
Jul 2017 • Couples
Great time. It is a long walk and I didn’t have sunscreen so I got a sunburn. It’s farther than it looks. It’s a nice walk and the beach is awesome. Recommended.

UNIQUE EXPERIENCE
Oct 2017 • Couples
It´s a unique experience between nature and society. You can walk on a 1.5 km road into the sea to the lighthouse enjoying the breeze of the ocean, people fishing, walking, biking, dancing, eating tropical fruits or roasted corn, feeding racoons ships coming and leaving and perhaps watching some dolphin You may come with Friends, family, couple or alone and will enjoy the spirit of Tampico - Madero

Limited Thing to do
Aug 2017 • Family
We have been here a week and have been looking for something to do, this was one of the best option, which show how few things there are to do in Tampico. We enjoyed the walk, the raccoons. Was interesting watching people fishing, we saw dolphins play a couple hundred yards out. The small gift shops sell the same trinkets as most tourist destinations but the nice part was not being harassed but the vendors as you browse. In certain areas the smell of garbage is the dominant odor but it passes as you move on. You can see how this area was at one time a very busy fun area to visit.

Very nice
Jul 2016 • Couples
It's a very nice walk along the jetty out to the lighthouse. We went mid afternoon in July and it was HOT. Saw the big ships coming and going and even saw dolphins playing. Just maybe go a little earlier or later in the day and wear sunscreen.
