Gorgeous lake-what a surprise!
May 2021
So beautiful and refreshing. Not as exciting as the cenotes, but fun to visit on our 3-stop tour with Gecko Tours Antonio.

Worth the time
Jun 2021 • Couples
At $15usd per person it is worth the price imo, we went there at around 3:00pm and while there were a lot of people, it wasn’t uncomfortable whatsoever, the lagoon is beautiful, the water depth and temperature are just right and you get some amazing photo ops.

Laguna Kaan Luum - AMAZING
Mar 2021
Laguna Kaan Luum is an amazing and quiet getaway from crowds. I have been twice and thoroughly enjoyed both trips. Because it is part of an underground Cenote, it is fresh water and can look either sky blue or emerald green. Most of the water depth is about waist deep. They added swings and hammocks to add to the enjoyment.

I love places that the locals travel to
Feb 2021
I would say there were more than 90% locals here. Lots of families having fun together. There were a dozen free divers in the deep hole. But if you're not a free diver, don't wander into the big hole or you'll get into trouble. Take a view from the tall platform to get perspective. The swings and hammocks were fun too. It was so refreshing to feel the cold water on such a hot day. Everyone was so friendly.

Avoid at all costs ($16 entry now)
Feb 2021
The lagoon is dirty, and overcrowded. We arrived at the lagoon at around 1:30pm, and told that the entrance price was $16 per person. As it was supposedly a area of natural beauty, I paid the entrance fee and proceeded to walk to the lagoon, the first thing that struck me was the number of people with cool boxes, drinks, and food.
When I got to the lagoon, there was no space at all. There was no social distancing or masks. The place was packed on both jetties. I quickly turned round, as I was not going to put myself in danger. The signs stated 50% capacity, however I think the people who are running the lagoon are just money greedy, as it was well and truly over that number.

When I asked for a refund, not six minutes after entering, I was told no refund. I told the now "non-english" speaking attendant, who not ten minutes before was telling me how much he liked England, that it was full and there were no places available. He shrugged his shoulders and refused to refund the money.

I would stay away from the Lagoon, there are so many other things to see in this area, this wouldn't be a miss.

Biked here and wished we never had to leave!
Feb 2021
This place is INCREDIBLE. Go early in the morning (as early as possible) - you'll be the only ones. Bring a lunch and plenty of water. Biodegradable (or no) sunscreen only. You can also rent a kayak for 120 pesos/hour which was unbelievably worth it. Bring a camera because you'll have tons of pictures you'll want to take.

The mirador costs 10 pesos extra. We didn't go up but it looked like that would be a good picture.

FYI: this is a great place for teaching someone how to swim because of the shallow water.

You can bike here from Tulum (my partner and I did so) - it's a bit far (expect about an hour bike trip) but it really gets you ready for the cool water. Enjoy!

Hidden Gem
Feb 2021 • Family
This place is a dream! If you are able to make it just do it! Pack a lunch as they only sell snacks. You will not regret it. No sunscreen can be worn to go in the water but you will love the water abs views.

A hidden gem
Oct 2020 • Couples
Well worth the $5 USD. There are a number of benches under palapas to set your things while enjoying the lagoon. The water wasn’t very clear when we visited but nonetheless refreshing and shallow to chill. It was very tranquil! We were there before it started getting busier in the later afternoon. We definitely enjoyed the relaxing time.

Beautiful Lagoon
Aug 2020 • Friends
We have gone to Kaan Luum several times while staying in Tulum, it’s a perfect day trip as it’s so near! There is a small fee to enter and you can bring your own cooler with drinks and snacks, there are Palapas to leave your stuff behind while you enjoy the Lagoon! We suggest you go either early morning or in the evening as the sun does get strong and there’s not much shade! There are a few vendors inside selling beer, water etc.
