We were so much looking forward to going here. Quite literally the worst place ever, I have never ever even made review like this before but I made an account just to leave this one!
They pack this place probably 20% over a safe capacity for a start. You cannot MOVE in there it is unbearable. You will spend the entire night with someone squeezing past you or having drinks spilled on you or crushed up in a space where you cannot see a thing.
We bought the gold tickets which cost an absolute fortune. We were ushered through to the main stars and after being there for half an hour we asked and realised we should have been in a different area (no one would have bothered to tell us if we hadn’t asked)
The gold area is no better, I’m some ways worse because you have a restricted view.
You are promised a seat with the gold tickets but there are no where near enough seats. The couple of times we found seats and sat down we were very aggressively told by security to move to the back (without even looking at our wrist bands) We attempted to ask why we couldn’t sit down and we were met with more aggression so kind of gave up. Food and drinks service is included in the ticket. At one point we noticed a tray with food in the distance but no food came near us or the several rows around us. Likewise with the waiter service. Shot girls are around continuously presumably to get you so drunk you think you are having a good time, which I think got probably where most of the positive reviews must come from, failing that they MUST be fake paid reviews.
The show itself if so so bad! It’s just a giant screen with music videos on it, 90% of the night. The actual show makes up probably half an hour of the entire show if that. They throw in little performances between the videos (very few and far between) The performances are holiday camp/bad panto quality with the exception of a bit of acrobatics thrown in.
They pull up the drunkest girls in the club onto stage to blow wind up their skirts, one girl was so out of it she was practically exposing herself on stage so they kept her on, she was basically 50% of the nights entertainment.
The security are SCARY, unreasonably aggressive and unapproachable, I would fear going up to them if you had a problem with safety etc.
The Barman at the first bar on the way in told my husband that he had to tip every time he ordered a drink. My husband only had a 100 paco note and he practically ripped it out of his hands.
On the way out we were literally bombarded with sleazy individuals forcibly trying to persuade us to go to various strip clubs.
This was an ordeal and literally the worst night out I have ever had. Please please don’t go there. And if you do, be careful.

Did Cocobongos on Saturday night. You can read below but my TL:DR is this - whether you have fun or not is highly dependent on where you sit. We didn’t have great seats so didn’t have the best time. A more detailed summary is below:

Getting tickets - is very easy. Went to the website and there are two categories of entrances you can buy Regular Tickets and VIP Zone access. Tickets come in three levels - 1) general admission which is standing room on the main floor, 2) gold member allows you to skip the general admission line and is a non-specific but guaranteed balcony seat (stool) so you are looking down onto the action on the main floor below and 3) Front Row Open Bar which is also a balcony seat like the gold member ticket but on the front row so you have an unobstructed view of the action below. Unfortunately, the front-row tickets were sold out so ended up getting the gold member regular balcony. (This set us up for a suboptimal experience) The VIP Zone starts at $1000 and goes up to $2000 for up to 5 people to get in and gets you a table on the lower level. You can see the maps on the website when you click on each ticket type. It’s hard to tell from the seat maps but if you end up in the gold member seats on the balcony that are along the side and not front row, it’s a poor experience. With two rows of people in front of you and a slight elevation, you feel really removed from the performances and energy of the club. In hindsight, we could have probably gotten a better deal/experience negotiating with one of the gazillion sales reps on the street in front of the club vs booking on the website ourselves. My Pro Tip is to have a convo with one of them before you book yourself.

Checking In/Seating- checking in was pretty simple. Got there at about 7:30 and doors opened at 8:00. The staff greeted us, saw we were gold members with skip the line, helped us get seated at the outdoor bar right outside of the club, and brought us drinks from the all-inclusive menu. So far, so good. While we were sitting there we saw people lining up at the gold member entrance but we kept asking our servers if we needed to go and they kept waving us off. They said no, acted like they spoke no English etc.., told us we can sit until 8:00, etc… I think this is a bit of the hustle they work so you end up with a worse seat when you finally get inside. At about 7:50 we decided to ignore our servers and get into the gold member line and quickly realized that because of the crowd that had gathered we’d still have a bit of a wait once they opened gates to get to our seats. Gate ultimately opens and we end up waiting in line for probably 15 minutes. You walk up 2 flights of steps to the gold member area and the balcony is already pretty filled in with those people we saw standing in line. Usher then takes us to seats (you don’t get to choose) that are on the back row, along the sides, and near the bathroom. We complain and he says this is all he’s got but quickly starts with the upsell, saying we can move down to a lower level and get a table for another $150 or $300. Having already paid $165 for a ticket and not liking the sense that we were getting taken, we declined and decided to settle in and try to just enjoy the night. There were several other folks in our area that had similar disappointed vibes as they squeezed onto their stools while the usher tried to upsell them. This theme of upsells continued through the night as we got offered, hats, pictures with an actor dressed as Beetlejuice, and shots from the shot girls walking around, etc..

- Entertainment - the actual show itself is a lot of fun. It was a mix of acrobats, impersonators performing hits of famous artists (think Freddie Mercury, Guns n Roses, Christina Aguilera, etc..), and super popular pop music videos (think Black Eye Peas, Pitbull, Rihanna, etc…) playing on massive screens creating the ultimate sing along. This is all mixed in with blaring music, cannons of smoke, confetti etc… so the energy is crazy. Despite our bad seating we still enjoyed the entertainment - it was top-notch! A couple of folks mentioned there is a lot of camera time spent on female patrons dancing in dresses being broadcast on the big screen.

- Food and Drinks - they only offered hot dogs, burgers, and fries. The burgers/dogs were bad, the fries were fries. You ordered and they kept coming out with trays of them. The drinks were pretty watered down but have enough of them and you can have a good time lol. I would suggest you get actual food beforehand because between the wait and the pre-show, you can be here for 4.5-5 hours.

So in summary, I would rate this non-front row of balcony Gold Member experience a 5 out of 10. We would have had way more fun with standing-room general admission. Our feet would be on fire but at least we’d be in the middle of the action dancing and having a good time vs feeling like you were standing against a wall watching an awesome party. Also if we’d spent for the VIP zone, our experience would have been completely different because we would have been on the lower level in the mix with a table with bottle service! So if you have a group of 4 or 5 I would say get at least the basic VIP Zone. A $1000 ticket gets in a group of 5 people. $200-$250 a person is more than the gold member but you’ll have more fun and feel like you are in the action. Several reviews on here call it a con job and it can definitely feel like it at times with all the upselling. Coco Bongos is one of the things that you almost have to do though, just for the spectacle alone. But set your expectations accordingly and spend for the VIP if you can to make it as epic as it can be.

The music is way way way too loud. I know this is a club, and I know the music should be loud, but this was excessive. There were, perhaps, 10 people on the beach on November 15 at 1am, and you could hear the music 6mikes down the beach. There were also fireworks going off at 1am. Because of where this club sits, there should be some tighter restrictions as to how loud and how long this excessively loud music is played when there are thousands of people sleeping all around this building. It went on until 3am this night, and out of all the nights we stayed down the beach, this was the only night that was just down right disrespectful to everyone in the Roo!

Having read the reviews we were dubious about what to expect but we booked through our travel agent TUI which granted us premium entrance, seats in the upper balcony and drinks. We arrived at 7:30pm as the tickets advised and we’re put in a line displayed as for “travel agent tickets”in 25 degree heat which didn’t move for 1.5hrs. The reason for this is that coco bongos had already had our money and therefore had no further interest in letting us and the 100 or so others in our queue in to consume their alcohol. In addition we were continuously bombarded with offers from the sales staff to upgrade us for another 200usd which would then mean we could skip the queue. Whenever we asked how much longer we were going to have to wait the sales staff again said the only option was to upgrade or wait. In the mean time any new visitors the sales staff had accosted and taken money from were immediately taken straight in. Once we eventually got in we were offered a shot of what tasted like water with a bit of colouring and then shown into a cramped area by the sales staff whom again then pointed to all the areas with seating and tables we could upgrade to which now varied from 170-1000usd. We declined and found our own spot where the four of us could watch the show and close enough to get our own drinks from the bar. During the next few hours the staff kept trying to move us back into the cramped area behind a pillar but we refused. The only positive of the whole night was that the tribute performances and acts are good, not west end standard, but good for holiday abroad standard. We got about 6 beers each and left before the end after the acts had stopped and it became a club night. The taxi drivers then ramp up the fee back to your hotel so all in all a real tourist trap of a night.

Terrible service, the servers kept pushing us around and sweeping our feet.
The performers were really good, but not worth the price!! Too expensive for an average/bad experience

Coco Bongo is my absolute go to. We did the zone one tickets. Worth every penny. You get bottle service. You get a fantastic view of the shows.
The staff is very aware of your elite experience.
Ralondo was our server. He was the best. Made sure we always had a fresh drink. Made sure we were in and out of the restroom and smoke breaks.
I love this place and can’t wait to go back. Thank you, Coco Bongo, for making all my experiences the best.
Sergio helped when Ralondo needed a break from us. 😜

We booked our tickets through one of the coco bongo reps at our pool who was very friendly and said that we could go in a group from other guests at our hotel. We thought this would be safer as we are two women travelling on our own. Our hotel was a 10 minute walk from our hotel but a taxi was provided for free. We were escorted into the venue past the very long line and were sat at the bar and offered free drinks. The lines to go in opened at about 7.50pm and as promised we were taken straight to the front of the line and offered free shots. We were escorted on the left hand side to our gold member tickets and the show started at around 8.30pm.

The show - The show was very good and involved a lot of different acts, beetle juice, queen, jlo , lady marmalade, circus-like-acts.

The problem - The problem with the show is that there are lots of breaks (about 5/6) where they let people on the stage to dance and have fun (this is where they blow up girls skirts too - you can ask them not to do this ) WEAR TIGHT SHORTS for an easy fix. The breaks is what spoiled the show for us, we didnt pay to see random people dancing on stage, we payed to to see a brilliant show. It felt like they dragged it out to justify the cost. I think they should have allowed the people to dance after the show or only have ONE break in the middle and invite people up to dance for special occasions like birthdays.

The waiter/server: We got asked 3 times for drinks and that was it. It was so hot in there that i drank 8 soft drinks alone within 2 hours, all of which i had to go and get myself and my partner who can drink beers quickly had to nurse 3 beers all night. Hence to say we did not tip.

Toilets - The toilets were located close to our seats which was lovely and they were clean and didnt smell. You arent allowed to flush toilet paper down, there is a bin where you dispose of it, so if your OCD this may bother you?

The food- If you look at the website it says SNACK so not a meal, a snack! Eat a meal before you go and you will be fine. if you veggie there are a nacho option otherwise its burger or hotdog.

The cost - We paid $300 for gold tickets, dont bother paying the front row, there is hardly any difference except that can give you drinks by the bottle so if your big drinkers in group then you might get your money worth.

In summary - We are happy that we went to experience it but would not go again. My advice is if you want to see ONLY a show, then DONT go, save your money! BUT if you want to go for a night out then this is your place. Go online and pay $70-$90 for entrance with open bar. Do not que early. Arrive just before 9pm when the que has gone down and all of the warm up acts have finished (its just dancing so you arent missing much) then continue to get very drunk for free :D i wish i had read this advice before we went. Hope you have fun
