I've visited this Church more times than all of Oaxaca's other attractions added together. Yes, it's that beautiful! Attending Mass there, even as a recovering catholic, is a great experience, and it's a lovely, quiet, cool and restful space in which to seek respite during...More

There are beautiful alters, saints, and ceilings to view while visiting this church. We were welcomed for a Sunday service which was spectacular as there was a native festival dance and so many were dressed up in traditional and exquisite regalia. There is a wonderful...More

We came to know that Santo Domingo de Guzman was a very important person in the development of the church in Mexico. This church is a fine example of colonial architecture.

Don't miss the museum and its jewelry collection. Watch out on Saturday afternoons for wedding processions. Sometimes 3-5 weddings a day at the church!

Do not miss the beauty and splendor of the inside of Santo Domingo, and the always-interesting buzz of activity happening out front.

Beautiful and historical building housing a very nice museum Be sure to check out the church next door as well as the botanical gardens on the grounds. The garden is separate and only offers scheduled tours.

Beautiful. We walked right inside and a man (presumably an employee of some sort) offered to give us an explanation/some background/history. Very cool. Museum has a lot of really cool stuff to learn too.

This is an incredibly beautiful church, the vibe is so calm. We sat in the square for hours with family hanging out talking dancing and laughing.

No lo recuerdo ver algo. Como es un monumento antiguo, dudo mucho que haya. Estoy tratando de recordar de fuera, ni hay rampa, creo!

The best guide ever is Omar Lescas Diaz. His English is wonderful and he knows "all" the history of the area. It may not be worth his while to do one building like this. He is excellent for Monte Alban and the natural tour... More
