    Still the place to go
Some things are better left unchanged. We visited from the cruise ship, last time was 13 years ago. The cantina had not changed, everything is good, reasonably priced and given with excellent service. The mariachi band was performing the whole time. Lots of fun and another great memory made.

    Classic Mexican Bar
Started going to this classic, famous bar in 1964. I used to surf with the Ensenada Port Captain's son. Tall guy that could get us drinks himself from behind the bar. And drunk gringos that once harassed my girlfriend received a boxing lesson from this friend! The margaritas are real, no sweet and sour nor junk tequila (I'd never drink a YELLOW margarita, they should be made with silver tequila and be a silver color). Great drawings in the past from the local artist on the walls and accomplished mariachis. Not the same anymore but the inside hasn't been turned into a "Papas", worth hanging out....

    Great Experience in Esandar
An Experience to be had, if you're here. You get wanded, for metal or guns on entering. Bar is full of the old original character, however the bar staff were all so disinterested in customers. Scrolling mobiles constantly between service. No need for restrooms to original though. This place could do so much better an still be authentic!

The cantina is famous for having invented the Margarita. And actually it is superb. It deserves a visit. The atmosphere is very pleasant, with Mariachi playing most of the time

We visit the Hussong’s in Vegas so my wife had read about Ensenada. We were on a cruise ship and once we took the shuttle into town we walked the gauntlet of shopping and restaurants to get there.

We were met by an armed security guard who frisked me upon entry. This is a tiny bar with general seating. We found a spot on a rickety stool at the bar and ordered a margarita. Honestly it was so so.

Nostalgia? Sure, looks like there is plenty of history under the dust and grime.

Before we were finished we received our bill and were basically shooed off.

Not worth the energy in my opinion.

This place is an icon in the area. If you are in Ensenada you must visit and have a drink or two on their barra. Peanut shells and pigeons on the cantina floor are part of the experience at this place.

I thought twice about writing this review because I'd rather people not know about it but they DESERVE TO BE KNOWN. haha This place was awesome that I returned night after night during my Ensenada trip. There is always some time of live music whether it'd be banda or mariachis. The vibe is good and the people are all in friendly, good moods.

Back in 1981, me and my future wife, and several friends drove to Hussongs from San Diego. We spent an enjoyable afternoon, drinking and listening to music. A local came up and ask if we wanted to play a game. We agreed and he had us all hold hands. He then handed two of us a short metal rod with wires attached. He then fiddled with something in a small box that the wires came out of. Very slowly we all noticed a tingling in our hands. The tingling quickly became a JOLT. The box contained some kind of electrical device. Fun times.
