About
The museum introduces, in a very interactive fashion, a unique collection which brings one to the heart of the Huron-Wendat culture, explores themes from the historical territories and recalls native memories and knowledge. The museum offers more than a simple visit; it introduces a bona fide cultural voyage. Apart from all the collections, one can find, in close proximity to a restores brook, outdoor theme gardens where one may discover the beauty and power of the medicinal plants.

Consciousness expanding Wendake
Aug 2021
Getting there was not easy because Google maps were misleading, but the visit was priceless. If we knew about the hotel beforehand, we would have stayed there at least for one night. In any case, the grounds and lobby offer a glimpse into another world and another dimension of beauty. Our museum tour guide was amazing, his enthusiasm kept everyone on their toes, and he went out of his way to make us all feel welcome. Although it was not our first visit to a longhouse, it for sure was was the most memorable one. There was a lot more to do and see than we could fit in one afternoon. We got some wonderful books to read until our next visit.

Expérience incroyable et enrichissante! Demandez Diego!
Aug 2021
We went to Wendake to educate ourselves and our children in the midst of all that is going on in Canada and we are so happy we went.

Diego, our guide, was so engaged ! He's the best! He was so polite, so knowledgeable, he took his time to answer all our questions and was friendly with our kids.

The highlight of the visit was the visit of la maison longue! I won't spoil it but it was so much fun to discover the resourcefulness of the Huron- Wendat people.

Great for kids and adults alike!

GO, GO, GO!

Awesome experience a "must do" in Quebec city..just make sure the questions you bring are educated ones..listening to "assimilation and politics"-- not why I came..Wikipedia the hureon to get background info..and you will understand what I mean..very informative and interesting

Outstanding cultural experience
Dec 2019 • Couples
The Museum of the Huron-Wendat people only 16 km from the heart of Quebec City conveys the spirit of this unique people and their culture. Set on the banks of a river, a long house and stockade complement beautiful and informative interpretive exhibits inside. The adjacent hotel and restaurant should not be missed. We will definitely be back in warmer months to walk along the river.

First nation visit.

It`s only 3/4 of an hour to visit this interesting museum. It`s very informative about the people who first lived in and around Quebec. There is a lot of reading and audio stuff with plenty of exhibits but not much hands on for small children.

Great resource
Jul 2019
Our visit from informative and pleasant. Our guide Tim was very knowledgeable. The longhouse replica was especially good. We did not know anything about the Wendat village and history before we went and we were pleasantly surprised to find it, It is a short bus ride from Quebec City-tickets can be purchased at the tourist center. They also have a lovely restaurant and we had a delicious beer called Kwa.

Myths and Legends
Dec 2018 • Family
We participated in the Myths and Legends evening activity in the longhouse. It was an incredible experience, and my two teens were captivated by the animated storyteller. At midpoint we went outside to the fire and baked our own bread, then went back inside the longhouse for more stories around the fire. My daughter and I also participated in the necklace making activity, which I also highly recommend. When we completed our necklaces we learned about the symbolism behind the colors and beads we selected.

Guided tour
Oct 2018 • Solo
I enjoyed a wonderful guided tour of the museum with a local Wendat elder. The tour was in English, and very reasonably priced. The guide's connection and passion for her culture was evident and for this reason the tour felt quite personal.
