This newly opened Road beautifully connects the best parts of the mountains. With abundant lookouts, this route enables visitors to take absolutely breathtaking pictures. Photographers’ paradise and lovers’ hide out, this road is a must drive for anybody visiting this park.

A wee bit past fall foliage peak at this altitude but still a beautiful drive. You’ll be able to see the foliage changes at different elevations from some of the overlooks.

It's on way of Clingmans Dome, lots of traffic on weekend, plan early. lots of good spots to stop by and have a look of smoky mountains.

Sorry,no information on walking groups. I would check at the welcoming centers in the Great Smokey parks.
