My husband and I drove through the park on a chilly and drizzly April morning. It was absolutely gorgeous. We even saw some wild turkeys, and then parked on the way back through to walk a small trail to the water. We sat by the...More

I don’t know where to begin because Greenbriar Picnic Area is awesome. There is so much to do. It is a hidden gem in the Gatlinburg area. A little bit off the beaten path but just up the road from downtown Gatlinburg. The river runs...More

Greenbrier is a place that most visitors don’t know about. You can wade through the river with water just to your knees or less. Its a soothing place to just spend family time. Vry relaxing and the whole family loves it.

There is no place like Greenbrier. It's so very beautiful. There are not regular bathrooms. Composting type toilets. And yes they are kind of gross. But the peace and beauty is worth the sacrifice of modern facilities.

We enjoyed the river and relaxing on the water. Great place for the kids. Almost any turn off is a good spot

This was an awesome place to have a picnic and hang out by the water. The kids loved playing in the creek. I am so glad we found it. I highly recommend it.

We had a great time parking along the park's entrance (there is a small paved lot) and spent a few hours wading in the water and exploring the river. We initially drove all the way to the picnic area (the path is pretty rough and...More

Even if the park is busy, Greenbrier is usually very quiet. Good place for a picnic, or to get near the river.

This is a great area to relax and just get away from some of the crowds. It's a lovely scenic drive along the river with pullouts and plenty of areas to wade or play on the rocks. A great area for a few hours or...More

This is one of the local favorites with great places to get in the water and float with a tube. Many deeper pools for swimming as well. Take lunch and stay all day. Not too far from area eating places as well.
