didn't have long for hiking, but took this trail given our allotted time. Beautiful walk - not overly challenging - hike out to the bald was foggy, but still lovely.

Very nice trail of 1.8 miles (one way). Occasional views can be seen from the trail before reaching the bald. The view from the bald is spectacular. We visited in Nov so no flower but hundreds of azalea and rhododendrons at the bald must be...More

My husband and I are big hikers having done lots of trails over the years. For an Eastern park, I thought the view was very nice, not spectacular. You can actually get the same view from the parking lot. The hike is moderate, climbs at...More

After reading reviews about this hike, we decided to give it a go and we're frankly disappointed. I agree with other reviewers that groups have spend a lot of blood, sweat and tears on restoring this trail and that work was impressive. If you are...More

I don't think alot of people do this trail, because its right next to Clingmans Dome (an easy 1 mile hike). This trail was 3.6 miles roundtrip. The trail actually goes downhill for most of the time, which is tricky because it seems easy, but...More

The day I hiked this trail it poured rain. Once we reached the bald the skies started to clear and I understood why this was a popular hike. There are lots of blueberries and blackberries to snack on while on the bald. A lot of...More

The trail itself was great. It's rocky, with steps built in, a long climb getting back to the parking lot. The bald itself was a bit of a letdown. I was expecting a broad expanse, but it was rather small. Plenty of wildflowers along the...More
