Great drive, but take it slow and enjoy. Impressive scenery which is better with lower light of sunset or sunrise time. Easy drive, paved but narrow.

One-way drive from Badwater to Furnace Creek, including a short stop at Artist Palette which is a photograph's dream especially at sunset or sunrise. As a tip, stop at Devil's Golf Course on the way to Badwater, then go through Artist's Drive on the way...More

This is definitely worth the drive in Death Valley with all the different colours among the dunes and rock formations. We visited in the summer so very hot, do not forget water, sun cream and hats!

I presume that if you are interested in Death Valley, you will love it... If Death Valley is, kinda, not your thing... then this will not help... ;-)

Did this 9 mile (one way) drive on a very good road on our way back from Badwater basin. If you are coming from the Furnace Creek direction, it made more sense to start with viewing Badwater first, and not double back after finishing Artist's...More

A really stunning drive on a very well maintained one way road through an area of outstanding natural beauty and incredible rock colours and formations. Several stop points on the route to get out and take pictures although it's really difficult to capture the vision...More

Artists Drive can be done from the comfort of your air conditioned car in full comfort, although you can get great photos from outside. Great to do in the heat

I'm not sure why this one-way road will be closing, it looked to be in great condition when I was there. I would say the bicycles would be ok but that really depends on what they are doing to the road going through Artist's... More
