Easy to get to and only a few miles off the interstate up a mountain road. As castles go, I’ve seen better ones and worse ones. It doesn’t take long to see. The most difficult thing could be finding parking.
Not as touristic as main Sicilian highlights but this castle may be nice to visit since it is a different type of experience. It is easily reachable and high in mountains. On the way, old olive trees and beautiful scenery. Inside the castle I expected...More
A nice old castle with a beautiful view. For us it was a good trip for half a day. We were lucky that a very friendly local woman from the staff showed us around.
There is also a small exhibition in the castle, nothing spectacular,...More
This has got to be the best example of a Norman castle anywhere in Europe! As a strong medieval defence fortress it has withstood the test of time and invasion attempts allowing us to admire its magnificent architecture, beauty and strength. There is so much...More

We rented a car. It's the most convenient solution when in cefalu to travel in the surrounding. Except for Palermo, where the train is cheap and takes you in the heart of the city. Not much to see in Cefalu, you ll need to move back and forth in between places of interest.
There is a limited fee to tour the castle, but I don't remember exactly how much it costed.
