Easy to get to and only a few miles off the interstate up a mountain road. As castles go, I’ve seen better ones and worse ones. It doesn’t take long to see. The most difficult thing could be finding parking.

Not as touristic as main Sicilian highlights but this castle may be nice to visit since it is a different type of experience. It is easily reachable and high in mountains. On the way, old olive trees and beautiful scenery. Inside the castle I expected...More

Well restored Castle, kids under 18 enter free. Castle has a long history, make sure you watch the video on the annual festival and the Miss Castellano Caccamo pageants.

A nice old castle with a beautiful view. For us it was a good trip for half a day. We were lucky that a very friendly local woman from the staff showed us around. There is also a small exhibition in the castle, nothing spectacular,...More

This has got to be the best example of a Norman castle anywhere in Europe! As a strong medieval defence fortress it has withstood the test of time and invasion attempts allowing us to admire its magnificent architecture, beauty and strength. There is so much...More

Coming from the coast, the site of the castle is breath-taking. On it's own hill, it looks like a fairy tale fortress. Very well restored. Large powerful rooms, thick walls. Very impressive. Beautiful views of the town and country-side from the castle. There is a history...More

Easliy one of the best preserved medieval castles in Italy. You can do a pretty good walk through, and are able to see some parts that are original flooring. The views are wonderful! I stayed in Caccamo for a week and visited the castle twice....More

We made the detour off the road to Palermo just on a whim, not really having a notion of what we were about to see. To say the impressive sight of this enormous Norman castle practically filling the valley and dominating the town was breathtaking would...More

By far our favorite castle that we have seen so far in Sicily. Stunning view overlooking the lake. Kind of tricky to get to, but well worth it!
