- Yao H42 contributionsMore than just a bookshopOne of my favourite place around Taipei. Very sad that it would be closed by end of year due to lease termination. Multi-level bookshop with a wide variety of books, which allows you to browse before committing to buy. Also have a section selling fresh and packaged foods and snacks, highlighting local produces, and also imported food items. There are also a few other shops selling home decorations, and a cafe. I have always enjoyed my time in the shop. Eslite is more than just a bookshop, it is a lifestyle/Visited March 2023Travelled soloWritten 9 May 2023
- GAN LKuala Lumpur, Malaysia8,776 contributionsA must for book loversWent to the branch in Starhill Gallery, Kuala Lumpur. Very spacious, with lots of English/ Chinese books and magazines. Books and magazines on history, politics, philosophies, hobby, travel, health, food, cookbooks, sports, science, the world, parenting, love, arts , biography were available. Busy time browsing through , making choices and paid for the goods. There is also a wide range of stationeries to choose from. A great place to visit for book lovers. And there is a small book cafe too - a place to unwind, and have another look at your chosen books/ magazinesVisited July 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 28 July 2023
- Yao H42 contributionsThank you and farewellSadly, this shop has closed for good now due to urban planning and rental renewal issue. Went on its last days prior to closing down, Eslite maintained its wide range of book, food, stationery and little knick-knacks, clothes, and cafe. There was a big sale of everything, hence there were people everywhere!! Thank you Eslite Xinyi for having been a big part of our memory as we grow up.Visited November 2023Travelled with familyWritten 11 March 2024

Books, fashion, cooking, food, and more. It has a wide selection of English language books across nearly all subjects. However, I didn’t see English language magazines.

Eslite is a celebrated bookstore that is more than a bookstore. Apart from the Chinese collection, it has a wide range of foreign language books, including English books. It's a multistory venue. Apart from books, there's also a cafe and giftshop. If you feel the need for a good book late at night, don't worry, Eslite is open 24/7. By the way, if you like the look of a book, you can sit down and read it for a while.

Taiwan Chengpin has closed some of their shops and owes tenants money. PAY UP MS. Wu! Our shop was closed when their management team ran away during Covid.

Um if you haven't been to an Eslite while you're in Taiwan where have you been? If you haven't been to this one while you're in Taipei what are you doing mate?
Jokes aside this is just something else. My explanation for my non Taiwanese friends on Eslite is as followed: "well it's a bookstore but also not just a bookstore. It has everything. It's like a shopping mall but not really... It's got everything. It's a treasure land. It's brilliant. You should just go and check it out for yourself..."
And as the icing on the cake: this Eslite opens 24/7. I don't know what else one could ask for and maybe this is the only thing that will get us through 2020. I can personally spend a whole day (or week?) here. Apart from the food and drinks and books and lovely environment to read, Eslite always supports smaller/independent brands and it's full of hidden gems. I always find some beautiful/good quality yet affordable stuff there. (3rd floor offers some marvellous jewellery brands)
Sure everyone can spend ages in here so spare a day/afternoon for it.

This place is open 24 hours! Very large bookstore, including foreign language books (in English and other languages). Popular with students. Includes a cafe with food options, as well as a large gift store with relatively kitchy items for sale. Did I mention they are open 24 hours?! Can be handy...

Speaking of multi-tasking. This Eslite bookstores is huge with MANY other things, not just books. We didn't have a lot of time for it. But if you have spare times in Taipei, an afternoon there maybe some experiments.

Sorry mate, I am back in Germany, and I am not port of Eslite staff - just a book addict.
Hi do you ship to the US? I am looking for some reference materials, for example 北堂書鈔 and 初學紀.

I am a customer, not Eslite, perhaps you need to contact them directly?
