This monument is next to a parking a lot. Quite easy to miss, actually, I was on my way to Besac castle when I ran across this monument.

We have to thank our tour guide for explaining the relevance of the memorial at the end of the bridge. The plaques are in the local language so were not immediately recognised as to what the memorial stood for. It is a simple tribute to all those from the local area who fought and fell against the Nazis.

The monument dominates the whole site. Extremely done, as a memento of World War II fighters. It is easy to reach. Great respect for their sacrifice in the liberation struggle.

The people of this small community fought off the Axis power during WWII, and this monument in the center of the village is a tribute to them.

This is by far the most dominant feature of Virpazar, this memorial to the partizans and heroes of WW2 sits atop a giant rock feature (like a massive cairn) and overlooks the village and the old bridge. You cannot miss it if in Virpazar. I suppose it inspired me enough to read-up about Virpazar and Podgorica's role and position in WW2 and why Podgorica was so heavily bombed by Allied forces (on instruction/demand of the (Yugoslav) partisans). Memorable monument on account of its location and mounting.

The monument certainly grabs your attention as you drive into Virpazar, as others have mentioned I personally don’t think one would make a special trip to see it. However on learning the history behind the memorial, it provides a context as to why Virpazar’s location was so important in past times.

Like any monument, it's not worth a trip to Virpazar *just* to see it. But, it's a cool yougostyle remnant - and can very well be given some minutes to have a closer look, if you're in town anyways.

Right next to the bridge, and out Hotel Vir. Not something to go out of your way to see, but it will catch your eye

Just a tiny but poignant World War 2 memorial at the base of the bridge. People still leave flowers.

We found this monument unique and very interesting. It is unusual to find a partisan monument. This region has been through many conflicts.
