Probably the least memorable waterfall we visited during our trip.
It was a windy and rainy day + the 700isk fee to enter the private domain for a 5 min stop was not worth it for us.
Maybe if you have a beautiful sunny day, it would made the detour more enjoyable.
Still, it's quite a wide waterfall and it's a very easy short hike.

Very nice place, randomly found from Sellfoss, only 15 minutes drive, nobody there, carpark cheap enough.

The Faxi waterfall is on the Golden Circle circuit but for some reason it is not always included in Golden Circle itineraries, having been before we decided to see the waterfall again. Something we like is that it is possible to get very close to the falls which are accessible by steps and a slope down to the water's edge which was quite treacherous after fresh snowfall on top of an icy layer. Being so close we could feel the vibration of the the thundering waterfall only a few metres away. It is a shame that Faxi isn't always rated as a top draw attraction but as for us it is a major highlight on a visit to the area.

Faxi (Vatusleysufass) is only a 5 minute detour and definitely worth it. There is a small fee to enter and they do have toilets. We took in the view from above then drove down to the lower parking lot. It along powerful falls that has a fish ladder. We saw a fisherman pull a big fish out of the water. Interesting feature is that the river takes a hard left turn at the bottom of the falls

A less crowded Golden Circle stop! Faxi waterfall has a parking lot. At the end of the parking lot you can see the waterfall, but then you walk down a little foot path to get to a better look out point. Very scenic and secluded.

Huge waterfall. Not high but very wide. You have to pay 700isk to get in, but you park right next to the falls. Very pretty, worth the stop

This was easy to find as it was well signed on road 35. We had to pass through a barrier, being charged 700 ISK to park and view the nearby falls. It was very easy to get wonderful views of the falls from the boardwalk which started about 20 metres from the car park. There were viewing platforms further down the trail and there was easy access to the bottom of the falls. After 30 minutes we had seen the falls from a variety of positions. There was a cafe and picnic tables at the falls but we were keen to press on so we did not dwell here.

This was the least impressive waterfall we saw in Iceland. Besides that, you have to pay an entrance fee. On the upside.. It's not at all crowded and chances are you are there alone. Definately not a must see.

We visited on our way back from Gulfoss. You have to pay to park but we were the only people there. The is a good sturdy path down to the base of the waterfall. Definitely worth a visit.

Lovely waterfall, we had it completely alone as it doesn’t seem to have many tourist groups. Parking is chargeable (750ikr) but entry free.
