Please note this review is not about the dam itself (you can get there on foot for free and it's nice place to visit), but the add-ons 'built' around it. ----- The chair lift goes up only until 5pm (in summer, when there is light until 9pm). It costs 1100kč for 2 adults and a child 14 y.o. (that's approx. 44eur). The last bus from the upper station to the dam goes at 16:30 (why not 17:15 if the lift up goes until 5pm?. If you miss the last bus, you will walk 3km to the Dlouhe Strane dam (that was a nice part). When you get there (after 4pm), the buffet and scooter rental place is already closed. If you go in summer, take enough water. The views are beautiful, the dam itself not really as it is a big, tar covered, concrete pool. But it is interesting to see anyway. You'll walk cca 8km back to the bottom station of the lift (because the lift does not go after 5pm) where the carpark is. The carpark costs you extra 200kč ( 8eur) for 5 hours of parking. You will need about 4 hours for the trip to the dam if you start past 4:30 pm and miss the last bus and lift down. The visitor centre/ ticket office/ restaurants at the bottom lift station is nice but a little chaotic. There are no arrows for Toilets or arrows pointing to the chair lift station which is not visible from the visitor centre. I have not been this bewildered with sloppiness for a long time.

The first part of the tour was lackluster, working with the guide from the facility, where we viewed a film about the production of hydro power at this facility. (Interestingly, it operates at a net loss, using more power than it generates-- water during low power times is pumped to a storage reservoirs at the very top of the mountain, where it can be released during peak electrical needs. However, this lets the power company even out the load on its grid.) We visited on a warm day in mid-May, and when we reached the higher of the two lakes-- the one at the absolute top, planted into the mountain's peak-- there was snow and rime ice and spectacular views of the surrounding countryside, including the tower on Moravia's tallest peak.

By visiting of this attraction you can enjoy technical solution covering peaks in electricity network in CZE and by the way also the outlook to the surrounding nature having Praděd just in front of you on the top of the other hill.

This place is not about technical architecture only. You can take funicular and then shuttle bus to get on the top - 1 353 m above sea level (you start at 564 m). And you will open your mounth there. Pool is so big, but the view all around is breathtaking. You can see Praděd tower and beautiful nature of Jeseníky.
