Sunday 25th October and we climbed the well worn step to the top of the Castle of Monolithos, where this small Church is situated. What an amazing setting with staggering views of the headland and coast below. To see this small Church with its whitewashed walls and arched shaped roof and small bell tower, by the entrance, is so worth the climb up to the top. Although the furnishings, icons and religious images are sparse and minimalist, it does have a serene and tranquil sense. The entrance door is rather low, so padding has been over the frame, so visitors dont hurt themselves when they bang their heads. Would recommend wearing robust footwear, this is not flip flop territory. There is no entrance fee here
