Jan ensures a full and fun experience with full attention to the PADI mantra of safety first (the only group on the boat with emergency O2 and reserve drop tank at 6M) for a 45M exploration of USS Emmons. The dive industry in Japan needs more operators of his calibre to raise the bar. Full marks!

Excellent Diving School for my 12 year old Son and I. We have wanted to obtain our PADI certification for years , and now felt like the right time. Piranha Divers were fantastic with all aspects from the communication and questions leading up to the training, through the training and afterwards with prompt updates of our certification into the PADI system.
We did the OWD (Open Water Diver) course, over 3 days, with Pierre for all three days and Otavio for the 2nd and 3rd days. The first day was in the pool, and then we moved to open water for the other two days, where we did 2 dives on each day.
Upon meeting Pierre, there was an immediate sense of trust and a comfortable feeling for both my son and I. Throughout the course, his repetition of approach and language used was clear to understand. Pierre is well organised and has a thoughtful approach to his training.
Otavio joined us for the open dives and complimented Pierre well, offering further security while in open water, and offering some additional tips and ideas, and a different way of explaining some points, helping provide additional clarity.
With this type of training, safety and trust is the absolute priority, There was not a single moment of doubt that came through over the three days.
The underwater experience is exhilarating, and was brought to life by Piranha Divers, making for many years of fun with my son!

I upped my certification to Advanced Open Water in 5 dives over 2 days. I’m a little rusty at setting up my gear and Jan was exceptional in his patience and teachings. I was always well prepared and safe for each of my dives. Along the way we saw a sea turtle, frog fish, dove in some pretty awesome places (horseshoe, dream hole, etc.), and more. I had a great time, as a solo diver during a pandemic we took important precautions while still having a blast. I was traveling with a non-diver too and thanks his generosity he was able to drop her off near our dive site to save her the commute. He went above and beyond in hospitality and guidance. I’ll definitely come back to dive in more locations with this company.

I went to see the Piranha Divers during my stay in Okinawa in early April 2021. I did my PADI AOWD course and a underwater scooter dive.
I had a great time! The instructors were very professional and took a great amount of time to customize my gear and weights to my personal fitting. I felt really safe during my entire course and had a lot of fun with the welcoming and warm-hearted team of the Piranha Divers.
The dive instructions were clear and professional, the visited areas fit the diving goals perfectly well. I was able to see a lot of interesting sea creatures and learn vital skills in a friendly atmosphere.
Even though I would love to visit other places in Japan, I enjoyed my experience with the Piranhas that much that i am thinking of going back just to see them again :)

I contacted Piranha Divers in Okinawa for dive training. I received a very quick response and was able to start training very soon after. Otavio was my instructor which provided excellent knowledge, realistic training, awesome dive experiences and all tailored to my needs and schedule. Highly recommend for any dive training needs or just excellent guided dives with top notch local knowledge to get the most out of your time in Okinawa’s underwater paradise.

I came in Onna region of Okinawa at 23 PM and tried to contact to diving shops to arrange scuba diving in next day. First one refused that was obvious cuz it was too late, then Jan surprisingly responded my message and accepted! We had two diving and it was fantastic. Before we got diving spot, Jan said "diving is a sport, so you should try to dive yourself as much as you can". It encouraged me and I felt the real diving experience while swimming underwater by myself. If you go to Okinawa for scuba diving, you should check Piranha Divers and PADI pro instructor Jan!

Come say hi to Jan and the fam over at Piranha Divers! Some of the best guys around, came down for the week to Okinawa to become a certified scuba diver, knocked out a couple of certifications with them. Very accommodating to my schedule, as conflicts came up and rescheduling had to commence they were there to help me every step of the way. Helped me become a much better diver then I was when I got here and got to explore a lot of the island doing so. Would highly recommend. Whether it be for a fun dive, a group trip, or a certification course.

This was my first ever scuba experience and I am HOOKED. Otávio was our instructor and was so knowledgeable about diving. He made me feel extremely comfortable diving and really went above and beyond to make this experience as awesome as possible. I highly recommend!!

Probably one of the best experience we have ever had. Jan (our diving instructor) was ABSOLUTELY amazing! He was patient with us since it was our first time. It rained all day and is was windy and cold but to the contrary once we got in the water, it was so nice and warm, we didn’t even want to get out. Jan has the passion and love for what he does as a diver that not only is safety his priority but he thrives for his clients to have fun and enjoy it. We had a great time! It’s okay to be nervous and scared (first time divers). After 15-30 minutes, you will start to feel more comfortable and start building trust in the equipment and trainer. Just listen and pay attention to your safety and equipment briefing. Also look at the guidelines of flying before scuba diving. I didn’t know about this information either. All in all, I highly recommend scheduling a tour with Jan with Piranha Divers. He is absolutely amazing and if we ever come back to Okinawa, he will be our go to diving guide.

I loved my time with Piranha. Jan was very professional, took me to great sites, and eased me back into scuba diving after a long pause. I enjoyed my time so much that I've already scheduled a return trip to get my Advanced Open Water certification with Piranha. Highly recommended!

As of now it looks like we will be closed however the schedule is not yet 100% decided. So it might change. Please ask me an November or December again for a better answer.

The water will be about 25-26C warm, we can provide 5mm wetsuits and warm drinks during your dives as well as dry towels and boat-coats to wear above your wetsuit so you don't feel cold when no in the water.

My oldest son (born on Okinawa) and I will be staying in Onna from 16 - 20 August.
He and I are both advanced open water divers and we would like to plan a day or 2 of diving with you.
Can we reserve dives with you on 17 and 18 August? We will need to rent all of our gear.
