We perform guided tours of Vinicola Benanti during the week. We start with an excursion on the vineyard Monte Serra, which is an ex crater of the Etna. Here we have the Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio vines, with major part pre-philoxera and older than 100 years. We will continue by visiting the ‘palmento’ which dates from 1700. Following the tour there will be a local brunch accompanied with our most selective volcanic wines.

We stopped in Benanti as part of a tour where we had a great lunch and lots of wines to sample. We did not know that their wines are a special type of wine in the shadow of Mt. Etna. One of the co-owners of...More

Benanti reception cantina is an amazing place. This is quite an ancient site; part of the installation contains an old style "Palmento" which was the old Sicilain way of making wine by foot stamping over slate tiles to stages of production separated by lower elevations;...More

We tasted five very distinctive wines here, three reds, a white, and a sparkling white, all top notch and delicious. I have no doubt we'll be hearing more about this label, and the Etna region generally, in the future.

After climbing fascinating Mount Etna we realized we still had some time to visit a nearby winery that was able to benefit from the rich volcanic soil in the region. I checked my list of nice wineries in the area and we headed off to...More

Wow! Had an incredible experience at Benanti winery, definitely one of our favorite places in Sicily. The winery is family run and has a great story and history. Get the lunch, it’s sooo good. Highly recommend.

I would encourage you to contact them directly to try to arrange this, as this is not something most places in Italy do. Generally restaurant only operate starting at noon.
