This huge site takes in a lot of walking . The exhibits are housed in huge hangers .
Down one side is the History of the area that all used to be marshland . And how Italians were brought to the area with the promise of land for clearing the marshland .
If you like your farm machinery and local history this is for you
The other side is all about the War , Anzio beach landings and Monte casino
Huge authentic real life scenarios
Real old war vehicles tanks , amphibious vehicles etc
As you walk through there are realistic sounds of war and also cool lighting effects .
Very poignant is the far to realistic concentration camp displays . Really starts you thinking
There are Planes out on the outside area with one huge troop carrier with the addition of a euro turns it’s huge propellers
The hangers with the war exhibits is very thought provoking and you can easily while away four or five hours . We were lucky in Feb very few visitors felt like we had the place to ourselves . Good translation for English speaking ,
Nice areas for lunch outside for good weather
Toilets clean and well looked after .
Check discounts for kids and over 50 S
Lots of walking the hangers are at least 100 metres long ,
Lots of photo opportunities
Will include some photos and hope you can see the Scale of the exhibits
If you are into a bit of army memorabilia at the end in the last hanger is full of all sorts of army clothing . And everything an Army might need
Well worth a look if you find yourself in the Area .

Museum does a wonderful job celebrating mostly local history in an experiential way. If you know that going in, it’s a great stop.
Curators do not seek to impart any broad narratives or deep dive on historical nuggets through detailed descriptions. It's not the traditional, “Here’s a big story, and to tell that story here’s artifacts under glass with captions.”
That’s the curatorial choice, and it’s executed with much love and competence.
Consistent English would be greatly appreciated to make more welcoming to foreigners. All of the aircraft and most military vehicles lack English on the placards. In exhibitions for toys, tractors, and other large presentations, there is no English at all. Easy fix!
Well worth the stop.

I visited Piana delle Orme numerous times, and every time I manage to notice something new, is such an extensive collection of war memorabilia. If you are passionate about history this is the place.

This is a place not to be missed if you love history. The amount and quality of the displays is really something special.Plan to spend several hours there. The cafeteria is good but I was not crazy about the food. But then Italy was not my favorite place for food.

The area and time span covered by the museum needs anywhere from 3 to 6 hrs to visit in detail. And the cafeteria restaurant is good quality. To be enjoyed.

We visited this museum as part of a tour of the Monte Cassino and Anzio battlefields with Dr. Danila Bracaglia. It is a gem! The museum contains dioramas depicting rural life in the area including the draining of the Pontine marshes. We were there for the World War II exhibits and were astonished at the enormous number of military equipment and vehicles on display. We've never seen that many in one place before, many of which were very rare. Dioramas told the story of the allied campaign in Italy as well as the Italian campaigns in Africa. We only saw a portion of this museum in our 2 hour visit. It is incredibly well done and we are so happy it was included in our tour.

Three generations of our family spent an afternoon here, we really needed a whole day to do it justice! There is so much to see, the exhibits are so beautifully presented with artwork to bring them to life. We were very impressed. The war section is poignant and interesting. Only downside is that we spent so much time in the hangers we didn't get to visit the shop! We will definitely be back.

If you don't have a time machine , come here and you'll experience what the italians in this area have experienced during the second world war.
This is probably the most well kept war meseum in Italy, due to the fact that is privately owened. The founder has collected thousand of war vehicles which are on display together with photographs and weapons found in this area which was the centre of major battles beetwen the german army and the alllied forces. Cassino , Gustaf LIne, Hitler Line, and Anzio. You can spend an incredible day with your family visiting the museum, dining under the shade of eucalyptus and shopping at the huge military shop where you can find old uniforms, helmets and much much more, an Aladin caves for enthusiasts. I'll definatevely be back

If you want to know about pontine swamps and how these mallaria infected area was eventually colonized, you have to visit this place. Furthermore the founder had a true passion for WWII history, you can find several compounds dedicated to specific episodes that occurred in the area. There is also a collection of old military vehicles. To let yourself be fooled by the sloppy entrance. Prepare yourself to spend an entire day. There are sever pavilions and I recommend you visit all of them.
