About
In the town of Jayuya, Puerto Rico is the Casa Canales Museum, which is a copy of the old house of this family. There you can see a variety of antique furniture, and you can learn a little about our culture including the 1950s revolution and some history about Blanca Canales

Great place to know a little bit of the Jayuya history and the Canales family. Don't know that Nemesio Canales and his family were from Jayuya.

I loved this! Aside from being related to Nemesio Canales myself, it was a great trip to Jayuya. The house is beautiful and all the furnishings, books and decorations are intact. I loved seeing his tomb and the engraving on it. The location of the house is breathtaking. It sits on the valley below the Tres Picachos and next to the river. You can also camp on the valley next to the house if you call and get a permit ahead of time.

For those interested in Puerto Rican affairs, if for just the one significant event that initiated here, you must visit this house! This is were the Nationalist Party Revolution of 1950 started and items from the event are here. The house architecture is beautiful and they have done a great effort to furnish it with items from the time. If you ever wonder around these parts, just take a look at the place; it's well worth the $1 admission fee!

If you like museums and learning of historical events then this place is for you. This is a replica of Parking is free and entrance to the museum it's just 1$ The guide tour gives you lots of information, she was knowledgeable and very pleasent. You then explore the place on your own and can take as many pictures as you like. The place is small but very worth visiting in my opinion.

We decided to go visit in a no so traditional way for most. We decided to go CAMPING. The cost is $5.00 for a small tent/ per night and $8.00 for a large tent.
They provide showers and bathrooms for those camping and I can tell that the experience was AMAZING!
Fireflies like I haven't seen since I was a kid, cooking outdoors until 2 am, lots of laughs and OBVIOUSLY, COFFEE!
WONDERFUL PLACE TO VISIT DURING THE DAY AND AN AMAZING PLACE TO ENJOY CAMPING!
