A bit off the beaten track, 18km from Baulou and accessed either from La Bastide de Serou via Suzan on a rough unclassified road (with great views) closed in the winter or better by the road that comes in from the valley to the north through several small farming (and holiday home) hamlets and the main settlement of Aigues-Juntes using the D1A road. We were there on a Sunday and a Monday; on the Sunday there was lifeguard cover but not Monday; however the food and drink kiosk was open, presumably all week, in this holiday month of August. Tree-shaded grass to sit on beside the water, safe coned-off bathing for little ones, a further buoy-marked area for recommended swimming but, for the super fit and competent, the whole lake is safe for an extended swim.
