It is a fun place to go with your family, with your partner, or even alone.
There is no admission fee, so you can enjoy your favorite drinks, food and enjoy some of your favorite rides.
The roller coaster costs about 1,000 yen per ride but if you want to ride other attractions too I recommend you to buy the 1-day passport which costs 4,500 yen on weekdays and 4,800 yen on weekends.

Pietro Tokyo Dome City Laqua, italian restaurant. We went to the Tokyo Dome to see an exhibition, and we took the opportunity to go to Pietro to eat a pizza. And this is because in Nagasaki, inside the AmuPlaza, shopping that is inside the station we ate the best pizza of this trip in Pietro de there, which we found to be new in the city, we were the first to evaluate Pietro de Nagasaki, unfortunately we forgot to take a photo inside the place but the pizza was great and we took a photo of the track to look for in Tokyo. We only found inside the Dome, near the amusement park, beneath the Russian mountain. In Nagasaki we ordered pizza 4 cheeses and margarita half by half, it was wonderful, and in the Tokyo Dome we ordered mozzarella and different ice cream, mine with hot coffee, and I liked the ice cream. So if you want a great pizza or Italian food Pietro at the Tokyo Dome and at the AmuPkaza in Nagasaki.

Went here on our last day of 3 weeks in Japan. For lunch After visiting the beautiful gardens near by. There the huge stadium and two huge shopping malls that surround some open plaza space and an amusement (rides) park. Some great food outlets for take away food (upmarket and budget) that can be eaten in park / plaza (rare in Tokyo) as the roller coaster roars overhead. I love roller coasters but hate the wait at amusement parks so I don’t go. But asked how long was wait for the Dolphin Thunder (a colossal coaster)…. 10 minutes!! So for 1500y ($17 Oz $) I went on. Wow. One awesome ride. Go here for lunch , the coaster, the scene (not so many tourists)

We visited Tokyo Dome City's amusement parks on New Year's Eve, not knowing what entirely to expect. We had a terrific time. I can only speak for the amusement area, but it has everything you could want - and a tad more, Japanese style. I went with my wife and five-year old daughter, so we're not looking for mega ride experiences, but rather a general all-around good time with a bit of everything, especially for kids. There are several layers to the place, all of which hug around the huge and iconic Tokyo Dome. When you enter, there are several fun things for kids - including the jumping trampoline, a stage area, restaurants, and fun little petting area for kids (which my daughter loved). Then you cross under the underpass and then you really enter the amusement park. The rides are generally standard issue, but fun, a tad Japanese, and quirky. The most memorables rides are the water ride which you do actually enter on the first level - quite a lot of fun, slowly climbing and then dropping you, without getting drenched; then there is this flying flower thing which rises you to about the level of a 10 story building and then drops you - wow, that one sneaks up on you; and then the iconic roller coaster which is a wicked little ride which of course goes through a round hole in a building. What i liked about the payment system is that you have a choice. You don't have to pay a huge amount to walk in the place; you can either buy tickets or an all-day pass; we chose the all-day pass, and with a five-year-old, i would probably buy individual tickets next time since we don't have the energy to go all day in the place. The staff at this place are all super friendly, and though English is not a strong point, they figure out how to help you out with whatever you need. Unfortunately for us, our daughter's favorite experience were not included in the pass - the petting zoo and trampoline jump, which was kind of strange. If you have the energy to do the full experience, of course, there is Tokyo Dome (if there is an event going on), and this mega spa - La Qua Spa. My, that should make for a full day. And, btw, it's right by a subway line and plenty of restaurants, inside and outside the park - so it couldn't be more convenient. We really enjoyed the place, highly recommended. This won't be a Disney experience, but it isn't meant to be - and will add to your own Tokyo experience.

We went there for my sons birthday and the highlight was going to be the Thunder Dolphin roller coaster. But it was under maintenance and they did not know when it was going to be functioning again. Without the roller coaster the rest of the park is very unsatisfactory.

We arrived on a Sunday around 9:45 AM prior to a Giants game and it was already pretty crowded. Waited in line for about 20 minutes for tickets to the attractions. A wrist band for unlimited rides was about 2800Y adults, 2100Y kids. Or you could buy a 5 ride pass or pay per ride. The best ride is the Thunder Dolphin roller coaster. Wait time was about 10-15 minutes and the attendants make you take off every accessory (rings, watches) and take out everything from your pockets (coins, wallet, phones). Coin lockers are available if you don't want to hassle with carrying things or having other people hold your stuff. Wonder Drop is a water ride and you will get wet. Kids got the most out of their pass by going on the kid rides multiple times. Wait times were minimal, especially after we went back after the baseball game (around 5:00-6:00 PM). There are numerous dining options within the LaQua shopping area and outside of the Dome including Shake Shack and Taco Bell. The "Yellow Building" near the Dome houses an indoor batting cage, virtual golf, rock climbing, roller skating, and bowling areas. We spent the entire day here (including the baseball game).

Spare yourself of agonizing waits at Disneyland and make sure this amusement park is on top of your list,. the roller coaster, Big Dolphin, is itself worth the trip. Buy the unlimited ride pass and be ready to have fun the whole day. Rides to suit all kind of thrill seekers, but the roller coaster is one of the best I have been one, including the wild rides in the parks of Gold Coast in Australia. For chocolate fans there's a Godiva shop for great milk shakes. Pure vegetarians please note that your only food option are the donuts at the Starbucks. Overall this park is much better than Tokyo Disney to spend a day with your kids

I was not very interested in visit Tokyo Dome in my trip but when we arrived I absolutely loved! I highly recommend if you're a fan of amusement parks like me. The roller coaster and ferris wheel are amazing! Besides that, we visited on winter and there was a very bautiful winter ilumination. Very beautiful to end the day, have dinner and enjoy the lights.

Hi, is it worth to visit for younger kids age 3 & 6 years? I mean do they have many rides that can be for kids with height 98-116 and if it too crowded for them? Thanks!
Written 10 August 2018
Yes, it's worth, there has a section for younger children, located at the top. You can buy tickets for a day or half a day, which is a day from 10 am to 9 pm and half a day starting at 5 pm to 9 pm. On weekdays it is not too crowded, on weekends there are more attractions and rides, but much more crowded.

Does the roller coaster run in the rain?
Written 20 June 2018
Hello. Can anybody tell me opening and closing times for the Dome. I have looked everywhere including the website but cant find this info. I would assume it's open every day? Opening closing times? Thanks in advance!
Written 1 May 2018
Hi. The Dome is open when there are events held there such as a basketball match, cultural show, concert. "It is a huge building used to stage entertainment. I doubt that it is open when there is no entertainment on. There would be no staff on duty and nothing to see. If you purchase a ticket to an event (eg concert), the ticket will show the venue opening time and when the event starts.
I went to an event in January which started at 10am in the morning and despite freezing weather outside, the public could not enter the Dome until exactly 10am. Long queues of freezing people had to wait.

Can someone please tell me what you can bring with you inside Tokyo Dome during a concert? In particular is Allowed to bring camera? Thank you!

For 5-ride ticket, can different people use it? Like three use for roller coaster and two for ferris wheel?
Written 7 July 2017
Yeah you can, but you'd have to use it individually I think.
So all three can't ride the roller coaster at once with the one pass.
Best thing would be to email them and ask, they have English speaking staff there. Or use Google Translate.

Are there any kids rides at Tokyo Dome City ?
I have a 7 year old child.
Written 28 June 2017
Several rides - and also several games. My girls had fun!
Written 31 July 2017
Are the rides including the roller coaster operating?
I saw a video on the japan visitor website (video posted 2012 on youtube) saying that the rides are closed indefinitely due to a death.
I will be there in June 2017 & was hoping to have experienced the rides until I came across this.
