A very small central square and a cathedral church which is more impressive on the inside than on the outside. LOts iof shops, cafes, restaurants, ceramics. Likewise, it's a charming whitewashed village on top of a hill rising above the valley. We visited it after a great day in the nearby Zoosafari (read that review), it's only a 15 min drive from it. The old town area is compact, easy to cover in couple of hours with nice Churches on small plazas in a maze of tiny stone streets full of small bars and restaurants. From the park terrace opposite the main Church is a great view of the valley below.Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 1 October 2023

We spent a wonderful day driving around the the Valle d'Itria towns - oncluding Locrotondo, Cisternino and Martina Franca. Locrotondo stole our hearts, it oozes charm wherever you look - we spent ta few hours aimlessly wandering its maze of streets and were sorry to leave.

Nice old town center, definitely worth a visit.
Take 1-2 hours to stroll through the narrow streets and visit some of the monuments and churches.

Narrow streets, clean and decorated to emphasize the beauty of the town. Baroque portals, nice churches, wonderful views, some lovely cafes.
