Well-maintained vein for tourists
Mar 2020
It places far from the city street. Since a car is prohibited to enter, you can reach there by rental bicycle, on foot, or free fleet provided twice an hour.
The veins were well maintained, the road was fully paved. It was within a 5-minute walk. You can go through the vein by yourself, but a short tour for 500 yen is also offered. On the tour, guides presented a feeble fire on a shell called Ratou which was used for digging. The light was very faint, I felt the difficulty of their work at that time.
