It is part of history. The town us so laid back and relaxing. There are only a couple of restaurants but that is basically it.

You need a car to gain access to this village or you will wait a long time for a bus.Its in the mountains. It is an extremely quiet little village made famous by one of the Godfather films where they filmed a scene of Vito escaping hidden in a donkey. This is a pretty little church based in the main part of the village. The village mainly consists of one long street with a couple of side streets and a derelict old castle. Its worth an hour visit but no more.If you walk from the church up the main street there is a little coffee shop on your right whereby you can eat/drink on their balcony with a beautiful view of the mountains. If you go to this village also go a bit further to the village of Savocca (Another godfather village which in my opinion is bigger and prettier).

We visited Forza as part of the Godfather tour and the chuch featured in the Godfather 3 as Michael (Al Pacino) is reminissing about his own marriage. Forza is 400 meters above sea level and the views across the bay are stunning and even if you have no interest in the Godfather films the village is well worth a visit. The Church is known as the old church as there is a larger newer church in the village, but the old one has more characteur and the interior is exquisite.

We came to Forza d"agro on a tour from Holland America titled "In the footsteps of the Godfather". However, one we got to the village we realized the scenery was beautiful and the village was fun to walk around and enjoy the layer back ambience. The town has a population less than 1000, but it supports two fine churches. And as luck would have it, both churches were open so we could appreciate inside. We enjoyed seeing both churches and we also learned about Coppola filming the Godfather as well as learning about the impact of the Mafia.
