Nice park to visit and well maintained. The front entrance guide recommended a shorter trail but we decided to do the Puma trail (full loop) and felt it was the best part as it felt more natural. Overall the park did not feel as natural...More
As we drove up to the reserve, a gorgeous Mot-mot was sitting on the entrance sign! It was a preview of what we would experience. The birds were many and beautiful but the trails were very well groomed.
Outstanding experience. Low season so not a lot of people on the trail. Please encourage your guides to not use the green laser pointers to show you where the birds are. It frightens the animals and they fly away anyway. And to not pull out...More
The reserve was very cute, we first went to check out the monteverde biological reserve to get some information, and went to Curi Cancha afterwards. There were basically no people there, which was very nice because we kind of had the paths to ourselves.
Did it without a tour guide - but probably better with one.
Straight away we saw coati, agouti, toucans, and the amazing quetzal!! There are also hummingbirds all around.
Spent a good 3 hrs there but could have spent more.
My partner convinced me to visit this place instead of doing hanging bridges and zip lines again.
I must admit.. it was great, really good fun and very informative.. educational.
We saw all sort of inhabitants of the cloud forest:

We almost skipped this tour on the last day of our vacation because we had been on many hikes through the forests. We are so glad we went because it was our very favorite guided tour of all. Jorge was an amazing guide.
We booked a tour in Spanish with Rosy. She was great bringing us here to look at wildlife. She brought a telescope so we could get some great pictures. Saw a quetzal bird, owl, hummingbirds, ficus trees and several kinds of avocado trees among other...More

I used Oscar who is listed and he set me up with an excellent person. He was listed under Travel Advisor. There are guides on site and also, there is the Chamber of Commerce in Monteverde, itself. Curi Cancha is fairly easy to walk around. There are huge tree type sticks that are available for help steady one. The difficult terrain for me was during the night walk at Monteverde. Really a bit rough as had a fractured ankle in 16 with a plate inserted.
