I stayed in an apartment on the boulevard San Juan del Sur is a backpacker and surfer paradise. Very relaxed and safe. Beautiful small bay with restaurants and disco’s. Disco Arribas on the beach/boulevard is packed, good music and much fun on a zaterdag until...More

It is hard to fault the beach itself, it is clean and quiet (during low season), free, beautiful, and as convenient as could be, with plenty of bars to grab a drink and watch the sunset 4/5 because the peace is somewhat spoiled by having...More

It is a bay for boats, so no waves for surfing. The beach is mostly dark sand. Kinda boring in my opinion. Hermosa beach is way more fun.

Very nice town, with beautiful beaches and great prices. We stayed at a rental room, near the beach, for two nights, we really had a great time.

The beach is full of rubbish and not the best to chill or swim. Recommend you go to another beach. They do great sunsets though

Nice beach for chill, swimming and learn how to swim,no waves and not deep. Cool place to hang out and see beautiful sunsets! Have free wifi around and a lot of bars. Recommend to try local ice cream “raspados” for 20 cordobas from street sellers!

It’s better if you have a car for a day. Maybe you will spend $50. Or take a taxi and afford $50 dollars.
